Yesterday I finished Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, and found it both fascinating and intriguing. I hope a second season happens, but I'm not hopeful. I might actually seek out the manga to find out what happens next. Now I'm on to Ladies versus Butlers, and it's pure trash anime. It operates in a realm that I've come to think of as Ecchi-Sketch. The premise isn't about social commentary or class warfare between the servers and the uppers, it solely exists as a backdrop for the protagonist to get into varying amounts of lewd or semi-lewd trouble. Brought to you by Xebec, the company also responsible for similarly designed Ecchi-Sketch anime, such as Kanokon, MM!, Yunna and the Haunted Hot Springs, Nyaruko-san, and Vase's favorite anime, To Love-Ru.
Live-Action Yu Yu Hakusho Series Casts Takumi Kitamura (Updated) Looks to be a Japanese live action series
Man I would love a modern regular adaptation because the fight animation would be incredible. Very lame
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is like “what if we made a tv show about what it’s like playing a fantasy video game on easy mode”
I guess. I look at it more as "what if we made a show about a hero who's actually legitimately interested in diplomacy". Like, I look at Rimiru as the antithesis of Ains from Overlord. Ains builds his kingdom through fear, lies, and subterfuge until he's too powerful to be stopped. Rimiru builds his kingdom and relations with neighboring kingdoms by legitimately being a nice person.
I like Overlord, but I can totally understand why someone wouldn't. It does get harder to justify "rooting" for Ains as time goes on. I actually prefer Overlord more through the lens of Isekai Quartet, which can focus in on the banter and wackiness of the characters in a more light-hearted setting.
Yeah and the diplomacy is always extremely easily reached, and former enemies are super quick to flip sides. Hence the easy mode
I finished Ladies vs. Butlers. It was pretty fucking stupid and I do not recommend it to anyone. I will however give props to the character Tomomi for having the best trollface I've ever seen on an anime character and using it every chance she gets. Next I'm watching Dr. Ramune, Mysterious Disease Specialist.
Finished Kaguya-sama. I have no idea where season four will go. The mission is complete. Onto FMA Brotherhood now. I watched the original series when it was on in middle school, but I hear this one’s better.
Started Dr. Ramune and damn, it went hard right out of the gate, and I wasn't ready for it. The premise is that Ramune and his assistant treat "mysterious diseases" by a combination of occult items and by targeting the psychological issues behind the illnesses. The first episode is about a child star who starts crying condiments because she keeps her true feelings bottled up about wanting to stop working and just be a kid. Her mother is a real piece of work that used to actually be a caring and doting mother, but slowly corrupted over time, becoming selfish and negligent of her daughter. Ramune solves the dilemma by putting the mother in a position where she has to choose between her possessions or the actual limbs of her daughter. Thankfully, she makes the right choice, and the two start rebuilding their relationship. It felt a little too easy, frankly, but I'm okay with it. I'm not sure I'm emotionally ready for the darker scenario. Anyway, next episode, a guy's dick becomes a fish cake. We're going there already, anime? Wild.
Just started season 3 of Ascendance of a Bookworm. Still really enjoy this show and how wholesome it is
Do these live action remake actually make money. I feel like literally everyone always hates them lol
Damn, this episode of Dr. Ramune I'm watching went hard again. This boy's mom developed potstickers on her ears because her other son got kidnapped and murdered, and she's now hallucinating he's still alive and the potstickers are keeping her from hearing anything otherwise. The murderer clearly watched Seven because he sent them the boy's arm in a cardboard box. Fucking Christ. I wasn't prepared for this show to get so dark.
Most people hate watch them. But there’s always a few people who enjoy them. I hear the logic that it’s a good gateway for people to get into the anime though.
I’ve never actually met someone who’s gotten into anime from a live action adaptation. That being said, I’ve heard good things about the Nana adaptation
