I’m starting Parasyte now. Episode one was freaky body horror.

the arc that it stalled out on was pretty boring as shit anyway. just get to the dark continent, who cares about some fight for a throne amongst characters that were never introduced before

 

Was convinced over the weekend at a bachelor party to finally give one piece a shot. I know the episode count is daunting but it should be worth jumping into right?

 

I recommend reading it instead. The story and characters are really good, but from what I’ve seen in the show, it drags everything out.

 

I haven't read manga in a while but reading it also sounds a lot more expensive.

 

I pay a couple bucks per month on the Shonen Jump app and can read anything from their library and even new chapters as they’re released. I just got to chapter 400. What a steal.

 

I know it's subjective but I also think the manga looks a lot better than the anime lol.

That plot description sounds really wholesome though

 

Three episodes away from finishing Hi Score Girl and this episode I just finished was like a dagger to my fucking heart.

 

And now I've finished Hi Score Girl.

I felt it was a little slow paced in the beginning. Having the titular character never talk meant the other main characters had to effectively work both sides of a conversation, which made dialogue overly wordy.

However, once things picked up and Oono became more expressive, it blossomed into a very sweet and moving storyline. I love the way things ended for them, although I feel terrible for Hidaka. Poor girl never stood a chance.

Anyway, as detailed in the gaming thread, next I will watch the adaptation of Danganronpa, and follow it with Danganronpa 3.

Watched all of That Time I Got Reincarnated as A Slime recently and had an absolute blast with it! Glad to see there's going to be more seasons.

 

I definitely preferred season one, but it’s still a great show overall.
