Here's a list of my fav openings and endings; I used to compile them into "mixes" and burn them onto CDs--gah, I'm old. You can kind of tell from how old some of these series are that I haven't watched anime in a while. Click to expand... it's long.
Apparently quite a few manga I JUST started reading have all been getting adaptions. I'm watching Trapped in A Dating Sim right now and it's missing the charm of the manga so far, but who knows it's only a few episodes in.
Caught up on the One Punch Man manga last night and wooowwwwww - I dropped it during the martial arts tournament because it was really slow, but the story really picked up afterwards and is heading in (what appears to be) a crazy lovecraftian direction that I wasn't expecting
Watched the first two episodes of Tomodachi game. An absolutely horrificly bad and shallow attempt at a trust game/death game show. All the friends are forced to play a game and think one of them is the traitor. It's another one of those shows where it's trying so hard to be deep and profound, but it's just dumb. I'm just going to Google the ending if it's part of a manga and drop it.
Anime News Network community rated the first episode a 2.9 out of 5, which is pretty low. You're not alone, is my point.
Episode one of Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie is great. I’m interested to see how it goes. Just Shikimori saving him from stuff, like Mr. Magog? Haha.
All you need to know is that it's a very wholesome series the whole way through! Read the manga and it's just really nice
In Another World With My Smartphone Season 2 is happening, baby! Fuck yeah! It's a generic inoffensive harem isekai and I don't give a fuck. I'm here for it.
only 200 some odd chapters until i'm fully caught up on one piece. what a ride it's been, easily my favorite shonen series.
Honestly, the scene that stayed with me the most is the one where the girls start passive-aggressively competing with each other on who can best ride a bicycle. It's so fucking stupid and semi-adorable all at the same time. I love how dumb it is.
I also love how they solve the harem dilemma in the most Gordian Knot way possible. They're all in love with the protagonist so clearly the way to go is they'll all marry him and they'll live in the same house together. It also amuses me that the protagonist wants none of this and is clearly only going along with it because if he doesn't, it's his ass. I dunno, what can I say, I like stupid shit.
Our theaters been showing trailers for Pompo the Cinephile which plays a couple days next week, looks pretty fun
Ooh that does look fun. I'll have to see if I can arrange to go to the subbed showing. My wife is busy during that time but I'm sure my two-year-old would love to come with me anyway haha.
I'm surprised no one mentioned the Ergo Proxy OP, because that one is probably my favorite Honorable mentions: Not sure if this counts since it's the opening from the visual novel rather than the actual anime, but it is used as an ending song in the anime. Also really fun song to play on DDR
Penguindrum openings and endings rule, as does that song that plays like every episode when the sister transforms
I'm excited to binge it. I'm currently watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I'm enjoying it. I hear the movie is incredible which is largely the reason I'm watching the series. Currently on episode two of the notorious Endless Eight arc.
Oh my god. I love the movie, and the show in general, but that Endless Eight is one of the most insane thought experiments I've ever subjected myself to. The dedication on their part to make eight of the same exact episode except with subtle alterations is fucking diabolical. You really begin to feel the edges of the same despair the characters must be going through.
Should I watch all eight? the first two were different enough that I wasn't bored, but people seem to absolutely hate the arc
