Attack On Titan has so many twists and high points. Even if you know how it ends, it’s still worth seeing how it gets there
I finished Plunderer last night. I think my feeling on it is that it was alright. It occupies the same space in my mind as shows like Trinity Seven or In Another World With My Smartphone or How To Summon A Demon Lord where I don't hate them and I find them entertaining but I also don't think they're great and would not go out of my way to recommend them to anyone. Problematic elements aside, they're mindless faff. That said, if they make a second season, I'd probably watch it. I've read a little of what happens in the manga and there are some things I'd be interested to see adapted. Probably won't happen though. Anyway, next I'm returning to Psycho-Pass. Got a few movies to get through.
started the last 4 Evangelion movies and I don’t really know what to expect. I still be thinking about those original two endings.
Eva + End of Eva are like sadness, depression and weirdness and the Rebuilds are like sadness, depression, weirdness and a fuck ton of cocaine
I’m almost done with NGE 1.1 and my god everything looks so pretty like the animation and cgi are just in point. It’s crazy to think this was made in the 2000’.
They get a little too CG heavy for me, especially the final movie. The CG is fucked in that. It's supposed to look "off" at times for story reasons but I think it would've been 1000x better if they kept those moments hand drawn
Yeah I tend to not really like much CG in anime. I haven't seen the last film yet but the first three don't have anything too bad although I would always prefer drawn.
Finished Penguindrum, god damn that was a wild ride. I love that it managed to be so goofy and weird while also getting super dark. Constant insane reveals that don't feel out of place because the show itself is just so over the top. Pretty crazy this aired at the same time as Steins;Gate, they are very similar thematically.
there’s so much I just have questions about and stuff and like it’s still very hard to process going into finishing the first movie and maybe starting the second.
Fire Force manga has reached a level of bizarre on par with Evangelion imo. Panels of irl photos, tons of 4th wall breaking, apocalypse stuff, fatalism, etc
This sounds amazing. Do you know how different it is from the anime? I usually watch as much as I can and continue to the manga.
I also tend to watch the anime then continue the manga from where it left off, so at most I just assume that the manga’s first couple of arcs are essentially the same as the first two seasons of the anime lol. But most of the stuff in the manga is a similar vibe as the show, so…. The manga is pretty clearly in the final arc and tbh it’s really only in the past few months that it’s become as wild as it has become. I’ve never read/watched Soul Eater (the author’s prior series) but apparently the author is doing a lot to vaguely tie Fire Force into that universe.
im not caught up but it was announced today that fire force will end in 2 chapters. shame the mangaka wants to retire after this
Started watching Ranking of Kings which is delightful so far. Also this Demon Slayer season is so good, easily my favourite part so far.
Newest ep of Demon Slayer is wild, a much more detailed final fight than the manga version. And even just the background of all the buildings burning is new and adds so much to the tone
Today’s Attack on Titan episode is insane. Even though I read the manga and knew what was coming, I didn’t expect to feel the way I did. Total dread.
I’m on neon genesis evangelion 3.3 and they really just said duck it all and threw everything out the window huh
So I basically never ever got into anime in any way, but for some reason as a young teen, I did end up watching Digmon after school. The first two seasons or stories or whatever they were called I enjoyed. Just found out there's now a movie series about the OG cast supposed to take place a few years later. It's apparently not that great but, I'm in my 30s, so I'm just looking for some nostalgia with the old characters lol
