There was some good filler arcs in the anime but I agree the Manga was 100% better. I really think they should have finished Bleach when Aizen was defeated. The two stories that came after weren’t my favourites and even by Tite Kubo’s usually incredible standards of character designs, a lot of who were introduced seemed like rehashes of what came before.

Don’t get me wrong through it was really awesome to see some of the missing bankai’s from characters to whom I won’t spoil!

 

My random list generator adventures continue. I decided to let it pick a few options for me to float between.

Selected are Devilman Crybaby, Non Non Biyori, Psycho Pass, and Zombieland Saga Revenge.

For the latter I've decided I need to rewatch the first season because I barely remember anything that happened. Looking forward to it.

I'll probably alternate between lighthearted and grimdark lest my faith in humanity collapse. I know Devilman especially will test me in that regard.

 

I love me some Devilman Crybaby.

 

Non Non Biyori is 10/10, few shows have made me laugh as hard

think I’m going to wait a few weeks before I start the final season of aot and that’s a real pain but luckily not much of my friends can spoil it for me

 

Anime is exclusively binge watch for me. I’ll wait till the final season is almost finished before I start, and yeah…it’s nice that even the most popular show isn’t likely to be spoiled.

that said, spoiler tags would be cool?

 

I read the manga at the end of season four part one. I couldn’t wait to see what happens next.I’m still excited to watch weekly though.

 

Got this today and it’s been fun reading through the first few volumes of this. I know the anime is better but it’s still such a nice easy read that has its moments.

 

Reporting in on my anime journey....

Of what I previously posted, I have finished the following.

Non Non Biyori Season 1 + OVA: Cute, charming, and fun. It admittedly doesn't stand out to me as much as some similar anime I've seen, but I still liked it.

Devilman Crybaby: Very good, and I really liked the art style, but also very dark and brutal with a couple of haunting moments that I'm going to do my best to not remember, lest it keep me up at night. Episode 9 was especially pitch black, and felt a little too resonant considering how crapsack our world is right now.

Psycho-Pass Season 1: Only watched the first half so far. Doesn't feel very character driven, it's more interesting just because of the mystery and world-building that's going on. I stopped after the arc with the girl who turned people into art sculptures just because between that and Devilman, I felt like I was wading too far into darkness and needed to come up for air.

Zombieland Saga + Revenge: Rewatching the first season reminded me just how deftly this show manages to flesh (heh) out their characters and make them all unique with moments of weight without losing sight of the show being a comedy. Kotaro is one of the most unhinged and awesome characters in existence. Especially satisfying to finally watch the second season, Revenge, and see them not only start reaching people on a larger scale but also earn friendships with people who know they're really zombies. Looking forward to the movie, as I'm keen to find out what's going on with those teases in the final episode. I really hope Kotaro's not dying.

Anyway, next I'll continue on with Psycho-Pass and try to mix it up with the other seasons of Non Non so as not to gaze too far into the abyss.

 

Devilman Crybaby sounds right up my alley haha

 

The new Demon Slayer was nuts. When Nezuko swooped in for the save and transformed, I literally cheered.
AoT was awesome as usual. The opening is awesome. It won’t top S4P1’s though.

 

I'm thinking of finally getting back into anime this year. I need to catch up on a few things. S2 of One Punch Man, S2 of Steins;Gate, S2 of Mushishi, and of course S4 of Attack on Titan (I haven't started S4pt1). Oh, and Digimon Adventure Tri

I have priority registration for AX since they'd canceled the last couple years due to covid. Would be good to have some newer anime under my belt, felt weird to not recognize a lot of the more popular cosplays. Like, I can usually tell, that's a character from MHA or Demon Slayer or something, but I haven't actually watched anything in the last like five years

Excited to watch this on the big screen this weekend. Looks delightful.

I'm hoping for one summer wars cameo, seeing king kazuma animated again would be amazing.

Update.

Continuing Psycho-Pass. Still in the first season and I stopped just after the good guys got a clear image of the bad guy.

It feels very bleak and dystopian, and I'm kind of wondering if this is going to head anywhere meaningful. I'm not unenjoying it, but I'm having to break away from it every so often.

Meanwhile, Non Non Biyori continues to be delightful. I'm almost done with Season 2.

I love that Hotaru keeps adding more and more dolls of Komari to her room and Komari's only takeaway is that Hotaru must really like making dolls. It's adorable.

Also the woodworking episode and the payoff to what they built cements Renge as the best.

 

Renge is best anime character of all time.
