new penguindrum movie to celebrate the 10th anniversary (has it really been 10 years? jeez) of the series. and mappa announces a new project, an anime adaptation of dance dance danseur with that mappa is doing the jujutsu movie (out tomorrow in japan), aot final season, chainsaw man, dance dance danseur, hell's paradise, and jujutsu season 2. wild
I love Madoka and Steins so yeah, in. After I finish Aquatope on White Sand (which is gorgeous) I’ll watch Penguindrum
Me and my wife have been watching Penguindrum on and off for like 8 years, still haven't finished it lol.
If any of you are off for the holidays and have time to kill, I'm once again going to recommend checking out Sonny Boy. I think it's become my favorite piece of any media that's come out this year. For fans of FLCL, Weird absurd shit, good music.
I’m spending the holidays trying to crank out the last two parts of jjba so I can finally watch stone ocean.
I kinda wanna just jump straight into Jolyne's season (if I ever get back to watching anime regularly), there's sooo much Jojo, but having a female lead for once sounds really intriguing
I just got to the part of golden wind where they do that dance on the boat and it’s so absurd but at the same time I love it
I don't understand the Bleach comeback, is it just the anime picking up where it left off to cover the rest of the manga? I didn't even know it didn't adapt all of it.
A third?! What were they doing the entire time, filler arcs? I haven't started the final season of Attack on Titan, but I'd rather have gaps between seasons than filler and then them not finishing. Have studios at least moved away from that sort of thing? Like, is One Piece still ongoing? Does that do filler?
Not sure where you got that impression, I can’t think of anything in Bleach I’d describe as particularly dark. The more disturbing aspects of Naruto (early Gaara, Orochimaru…) are way more unsettling than anything in Bleach that comes to mind
The final arc is absurdly long and the show had dropped in popularity to a degree that they cancelled it before even starting it. And yeah the anime had a ton of filler arcs because it would keep catching up to the manga. Even multiple filler arcs that cut into the middle of what was at the time the big arc that the series had been building up to the whole time (the battle against Aizen)
Yeah its not really that dark, for me the appeal was always Tite Kubo's artwork and designs, he has a really great style. The first big arc in the manga is one of my favourites in shonen. Its not the most complex in terms of storytelling but its a quick read and I always found it fun. I never got into the anime though because of the huge amount of filler and the art looking way better in the manga.
