Yeah I’m expecting next season to start with the generic filler intro that they always do, then probably a single ep of build-up before shit pops off. Season 5 swapped the order of the Endeavor agency/Villain arcs, but there’s basically nothing left in the manga to cover before they get right into the thick of it. Which, now I’m regretting feeling like I’m hyping it up so much, but it really is the culmination of the series up to this point lol. The most apt comparison I can think of is probably the Pain’s Assault arc in Naruto
Gurren Lagann constantly swaps with Hunter x Hunter for my favourite anime. The progression in that show is truly incredible.
I still believe Yu Yu Hakusho is better than Hunter Hunter (even though I like Hunter Hunter). I want a full remake of Trigun because it does not hold up as well as I thought and there's some good content there.
Yeah I'd always considered Trigun, Bebop/Champloo, Eva/FLCL/Gurren Lagann, FMA/FMA:B to be essential anime series of the 90s and 2000s. Most of them do tend to get better as they go, though. And I'm sure some must feel pretty dated now. Then there's 2011, with Steins;Gate, Madoka, and Penguindrum. I haven't really kept up with anime in general in the past 5+ years, though. Last I remember being super excited for something was when Kill La Kill and AoT S1 were airing.
I decided to see how far into the mugen train arc they are and they only 3 episodes in so far dang I expected them to be further in
never really been an anime person but I just watched all of Bebop on Netflix and now I'm so sad I can't sleep. show was a true work of art, not even sure what I follow it up with lol
yeah I did watch the Bebop movie, it helped a little in terms of filling that gaping hole the finale left me lol will look into Champloo, cheers
Last year the congressional anime caucus was at zero, now there is two. The ball is rolling people. Hop on the train now before it's too late
I have a gripe I want to get off my chest. So, I'm still watching the Certain shows. I'm almost done with Railgun T and then I'll complete the series with Index III. So I watched the episode where Saten and Frenda are on the run from Yumiya Rakko, the sniper who Frenda ends up knocking out of a window with bombs in her mouth that Frenda then detonates. Impossibly, she survives, except she's Darth Vader now, and is holding a major grudge/obsession for Frenda. And it's my understanding that this is where that subplot ends, because the next time I'll see Frenda will be in Index III, where Yumiya is already dead, killed offscreen. Like... why even bother adding that development and then do fuck all with it? The fact that this happened in Railgun, written after Index, makes leaving this plot thread a dead end even more baffling. It's just annoying. It's a waste of an interesting character. Anyway, end rant.
Yeah I'm surprisingly into it. Gonna be such a weird show but for some reason I want it to work more than most live action adaptations.
This is actually one of my favourite episodes of Railgun. But the fact Index does shit with that sub plot afterwards is awkward to me. The whole timeline in itself is weird as well seeing that Railgun T takes place before Index III. I do feel like Railgun is the better show though.
Index and Railgun occupy a weird space to me, where Railgun is more coherent by virtue of both being able to expand on events in Index and also not having to reference Index in any meaningful way. I don't know if that's just the anime, since I don't know what it excised from the light novels, but with that dynamic established, it's weird to me that they would then make a past event that just goes nowhere. Like, I get them thinking to expand on SCHOOL and tell this story of what happened to their previous sniper, but then they just leave the thread dangling. It's not a problem you expect a creator to have when they have the benefit of already knowing what's supposed to happen. It's weird and offputting. Especially since I agree that the episode was very good. Poor Saten. She made all that food for nothing.
I wish I could tell you based on the manga for Railgun (majority of them are SUPER hard to find) but I only have the first two volumes, but they do follow the same way the first couple of episodes do so I wouldn’t be surprised if this situation is played out the same way. I do feel like Index was rushed more and bits and pieces of that story was tacked onto Railgun T. Part of me also wants to believe they never further explored SCHOOL due to time constraints or whatever, idk. More for her though, haha.
