wtf is this? i have seen the anime and my brain exploded, i dont understand this at all, who is this for?
Not anime, but I guess this is the best thread for this? First teaser for Hideaki Anno’s Shin Kamen Rider (2023): Just a straight-up remake of the original series’ opening. Looks dope.
haha, I was kinda hoping he'd make something more like Love & Pop or Ritual now that he's done with Eva but I guess I'll take that.
This came up in my Youtube feed today, and so I watched it, and it is the dumbest thing I've seen in a while, and yet I'm totally intrigued by this concept. I'm legit surprised I haven't seen this take on isekai before, and now I just want more wacky adventures of a plucky super-giant heroine, her equally giant NEET demon-lord sidekick, and their normal-sized hamster knight.
I've been pretty out of the loop, had no idea Hideaki Anno formed Studio Khara. And with Trigger being its own thing as well it looks like Gainax hasn't been very active. As much as I enjoyed Star Wars Visions I was surprised I was only familiar with two or three of the studios. Feels like the anime landscape has really changed since I took a break a few years back.
I won’t consider Eva truly finished until we get some sort of media regarding the 14 years between 2.0 and 3.0, we missed a crazy amount of shit that I want to see. So hopefully Anno works on that after his next two live action
dandadan has been phenomenal so far. the mangaka was an assitant to tatsuki fujimoto (chainsaw man) and yuji kaku (hell's paradise) and it shows. its web only for the jump app but its on the mangaplus app too i believe. also i dont think anyone has posted anything about it here but azuki is a new manga reading app that has a pretty large library of its own. similar pricing to the jump app. so if anyone's interested in more readily available manga that isnt just form the jump line of titles this should insterest you. large library of kodansha titles (attack on titan, fire force, fairy tail, parasyte to name a few popular ones)
Finished reading Bleach. They really should have just ended it with Aizen. I also don’t like how Rukia in particular was so central to the show at the outset but just became a side friend over time. Her relationship with Ichigo was way more significant/interesting than Ichigo/Orihime
I don’t think that needs to be told tbh. Evangelion is my favourite thing ever so I want more from it but at the end of the day I think it’s finally time for Anno to move on
Anno had planned for all of that to be 3.0, we missed a lot of interesting stuff. Another impact (true third impact? 4th impact? I genuinely can’t keep track) a massive battle in central dogma, Kanji’s death, a power shift within NERV, Gendo and Fuyutski in Antarctica. I am very curious to see all of that
I wasn’t sure about an anime arc adapting a movie that just came out… but episode one of Demon Slayer season two ruled. It adds more context to it and makes me love Rengoku even more.
we really are going to have attack on titan, demon slayer and new jojo part airing at the same time wild
blue period manga is really great if anyone is interested in watching the anime. the op is banging too.
I plan on checking out Blue Period, My Senpai is Annoying, The Heike Story, The Faraway Paladin, Platinum’s End, and continuing AoT and Demon Slayer this season. What about all you?
The Violet Evergarden movie is, as expected, fucking devastating. But god damn, I am constantly in awe of KyoAni's animation work. Might be the best looking anime I've ever seen?
