I want to watch, but my wife and I are pretty sensitive to animals getting hurt or dying. Would we be ok with this?
There is some violence in the show, it can get fairly dark, but it isn't the main focus really. There are sections that have to do with fighting, but the series is mostly about the characters
A few episodes in and enjoying it so far. The anthropomorphic animals having sex was sudden and weird, but it wasn’t pointless and was part of the plot.
Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop was such a cute coming of age movie. Just under 90 minutes with colorful animation and good music. Very heartwarming.
Got to watch Weathering With You in a theater this past week, which was dope. One of my favorite movies I saw last year, but I didn’t see it ‘til I got the Blu-ray. Revisiting it in a theatrical context ruled. Also watched Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie Parts 1 & 2 (nice, simple name) on Netflix, which I quite enjoyed. I found the little bit of Crystal I saw very unappealing; this felt like “what if that, but good?” Might go back and give Crystal season 3 a shot, since that was apparently an upgrade from the earlier seasons closer to how Eternal turned out. Oh, and I posted this in the comics thread, which I guess is also relevant here:
chainsaw man was my first must read just because the anime shots have me super hyped That’s going to be my last choice because so damn long lol
I decided to check out record of ragnarok on Netflix and geez it really shows how little Netflix cares for its anime’s because the pacing is extremely slow and some very low quality shots plus a bunch of Japanese text doesn’t even get translated so you just kinda have to figure out for yourself what it says. Im reading a lot of comments just say the manga is too good so I might have to peep that.
wild seeing the difference in manga sold last year, like what even are those numbers with demon slayer
How many volumes does One Piece have now? How do you even begin something so daunting, they've gotta be at like 20,000 pages
Hopefully we’ll see JJKs numbers get boosted when they release 2020-2021 numbers and the 2021-2022 numbers for chainsaw man should follow after that if the anime is good
Think it's close to 100 volumes if not there already. Its not that bad though, its really fun to go through so just take your time with it and you'll catch up eventually lol. Even if you just read a couple a week you'll be done in a year.
The length is mainly the reason I was hesitant to start One Piece for so long. But it’s divided into big arcs, so it’s easy to binge in chunks. If you want to get into it, read it first and then decide if you want to watch the show. The show has so much filler. Enjoy the journey and don’t focus on “completing” it.
Just saw that there are two new Rurouni Kenshin live action films this year covering the Jinchuu arc edit: They're both on Netflix already whaaaa I need to watch them nowwww
I’m not even particularly interested in it (I have a really hard time getting into shonen stuff) I’m just constantly in awe that it’s still going and releasing consistency
I get high and watch One Piece almost every night. It’s become my favorite, or at least up there with Hunter x Hunter. I might have basic taste in anime, idk.
That’s better than what I started to do last night. Getting high and trying out School Days. This is a bad show.
School Days is a show I feel like I need to watch not because it's good or entertaining or any normal reasons for watching a show, but like a badge of honor kind of thing. So I can say to other anime fans, "I've suffered as you have suffered."
