So I was at the Netflix 'geek'd' event where they debuted this trailer, and it's a hack style trailer as it interrupted some live quiz show thing going on and let me tell you, I went NUTS as it was so unexpected. A lot of cyberpunk cosplayers in the audience went crazy too. I believe it's confirmed it's a new animation studio and there are no details on plot, but my hopes are that it's a new life path. 1st season = street, so I hope we get nomad or corpo and eventually get a 3 season arc of each of the 3 life paths available to roleplay in the game. I also hope it's kept very separate from the game with just easter eggs tying it in, I don't want a plot that ties directly into V / Johnnys story. RE Arcane and what's behind your spoiler... That's my one issue I have with this season so far is that it's PACKED with stuff and moving a little too fast. It definitely feels like a show that was meant to be around for a lot longer than it's been given, and that some moments are just going to feel rushed. We're only 1 arc in, andI get it's a season premiere after a long wait to they have to go BIG, but I'm afraid moments aren't going to land if they keep up this pace. Like I thought Caitlyn's ascension happened too fast and I'm even surprised that Vi and Jinx had a huge showdown so early
Finished Vox Machina S3! Great story, very emotional at times, but also really fucking funny. As much as I love this show and especially the cast, I don't think I could actually watch Critical Role haha. I don't have the attention span, or the time. I've only seen some highlight compilations, it must be so cool for fans who followed the whole campaign to see it get animated
Aaaand finished Batman Caped Crusader! Gritty and grounded. Mostly street level villains, not too much magic or high tech. It's cool we're getting a modern take on classic Bats. Babs and Harls def had the most changes and I love that for them, tho I think Bullock went from incompetent to straight up corrupt and he's never been more annoying. I really like how they handled Dent. Penguin not so much. idk, you'd think I'd like a gender swap. I also really liked Natalia's episode, I didn't realize until I looked it up that she's a de-aged version of Nocturna from a rather rough stretch of the Batwoman comics.
Yeah, Arcane was amazing. A little rushed but it got the job done and was fantastic the entire way through
I enjoyed Arcane up until the end but: 1) Extremely rushed and netflix should have spent the money on another season for this particular arc. I think the black rose storyline was the most rushed / confusing / needed more time spent to flesh it out. 2) Not a very satisfying conclusion and a bit of a cop out to call it the end? It's good, as I hope it means there will be spinoffs / further stories, but I thought (and I could be wrong), that it was sold as a conclusion and very final, and it didn't feel very... concluding.
I hear they're making other shows focused on other places in the LoL universe. Chance for crossover I suppose
we're 100% seeing many of those characters again, Christian Linke basically outright said so. also Jinx isn't dead
finally got around to watching Vox Machina s3 now that my Arcane related depression has started to subside a bit, man they made some big changes from the campaign this time around lol. felt like they were rushing through some stuff trying to get it finished quicker before Mighty Nein gets adapted. still enjoyable enough but it's a shame some of the most iconic character moments from the campaign, especially Scanlan's got kinda gutted
halfway through the last season of the Dragon Prince that just dropped and it's really really good. i'm so excited for what will surely be an epic conclusion, but part of me doesn't want it to end!
Dragon Prince s7 finale was satisfying in so many ways, but also unsatisfying in so many others. without going into spoilers, it is very obvious from the ending that there's so much more story to tell, but it all depends on whether Netflix will give it the chance to, whether that's more seasons or a spinoff like TLOK, or perhaps a different medium altogether. apparently the head writer had a total of ten seasons in mind for the show, so i hope the rest of the story will continue in some form or another. the writing for this series is incredible, the plot is always exciting and the character development always comes with such emotional depth. it's been so rewarding following a story so thematically rich in a show geared towards kids.
Rewatched Mask of the Phantasm for the first time in a long time and it's still the best Batman movie ever made
