But in my defense, my spring with this album has been pretty dope.

 

Just saw these dudes in Berkeley.
Holy god they are good Live. New song "fair" also rips and has an awesome outro.

Gonna be amazed if these guys aren't on incredible tour this fall.

 

Super confused reading this thread. People talk like this is their first full length but there's at least two others on their bandcamp. Someone give me the run on their discography please.

 

they put out two EPs and they combined into a full length. Pretty sure the earlier stuff was the band in a very different form.

 

Yea I think that early stuff was almost a solo project

 

they hit dynamics so much better than even some other much bigger bands of this style people love on here

Animal Flag is a dynamic rock outfit who pen poetic tunes about doubt and loss. What began as Matthew Politoski's solo project has morphed into a full quartet and made a tonal shift from Politoski's folk roots. On record, the folk and songwriter influence remains, but on stage these songs take new form as heavy-laden, escalating rock anthems.

 

That session is so good.
Even though this a 2016 release, I think it is m favorite 2017 discovery. Can't wait for the next full length

Great session. This band is so good, really hope we get some new songs sometime soon.
