It’s pretty different to what I was expecting, kind of like a mix of Bright Eyes and Cloakroom with some Caracara and early Arcade Fire thrown in (this is prob a terrible description). It gets nice and noisy so I like it. Void Ripper is an amazing album title. Top 5 most anticipated for the rest of the year.
Reading this i expected more out of the ending but i definitely dig the track. Feels like it will seem stronger in the context of the album than on its own.
Going to play it again myself. So fucking stoked that this record comes out next month but i still wish it was sooner haha
This song is interesting. I had to listen to it twice in a row this morning because I thought I missed something or it skipped since it felt like it was over before it really started. Feels like an intro track in that way.
the most surprising thing about my first listen of this song is how i thought the production wasn't very good at all, which is crazy from a band so focused on sonics. maybe this'll make more sense in context but i was very confused by some of the choices here
i'm listening again on headphones now. wonder who's doing backing vocals it still feels very blown out to me
While this isn't what I was expecting at all, I really like it. It somewhat reminds me of Mansions which is always good thing.
I actually think the production choices worked well for the song, and I felt that loud part hit pretty hard which is always good.. It probably brickwalls like crazy there but given how quiet the other parts are that sort of works for me. Like you said maybe some of those choices will make more sense in context. Still thought the song was great, lots of urgency.
eh, i mean it is a flower girl release mostly, just under the umbrella of TC, preorders aren't even up in the TC store and they aren't listed on their website
