I have Redd and he has a real Moody Painting I don't need for anyone that wants it. Also a fake Mona Lisa and fake Informative statue. Let me know and I'll open up. Please water the flowers in front of the Redd beach area.

Over 220 campsite visitors seen through the campsite method of hunting thus far and still no Dom. I've left Audie, Marina, Fauna, and Merangue behind (and so many others). I thought shiny Pokemon hunting was frustrating lol.

Do you feel that the campsite gets "better" villagers, in your opinion? I've noticed that it does, in my experience, vs. island hunting. I realize there's some subjectivity in that but I just find the campers for me tend to be the more rare/interesting ones.

I don't think the game has a hierarchy of what villagers are better or rarer than others. It's totally subjective.

With the campsite method, are you just time traveling and checking your campsite each day? I might stop buying turnips now and start time traveling. I've done zero villager hunting.

Yeah. I feel like you're probably right, but at the same time, it also just feels like there are ones that more rare.

As far as I understand it, you have a far lower chance of duplicates via campsite. I got Octavian 3 times out of 10 NMT trips once. I have not seen a duplicate yet via camp site.

Yes. I Start at the current date and then move forward a day at a time. When a visitor shows up, I save and then move 5 days forward; 5 days gives you a 15% chance, it is then 20% each date after. Rinse and repeat.

Edit: Also, with the camp site, you have a greater chance of villagers with personality types not currently on your island appearing.

2nd edit: You don't even need to go past the announcements, since Isabelle tells you right away if someone is there.

I think it's because there's 397 villagers and only like 20 that are considered "top tier" so the odds of you getting them are low. In theory if you were looking for a specific villager, every NMT you use would have a 0.25% chance of getting them. Pretty damn low. Campsite would be a bit higher if you didn't have that personality type.

So if you have a campsite visitor and nobody has expressed wanting to leave, is there anything you can do to make someone leave so the visitor can move in?

When you talk to the visitor (usually after winning their items twice), they will sometimes ask to stay on the island. They will go to resident services and be told there is no room. They will suggest someone to replace. as long as you don't close this dialogue you can reset until they pick the islander you want. This can take a looong time though. i spent 6 hours resetting my daughter's game to get Muffy to pick the right person.

Yeah, that's the important part - don't let the conversation finish after the visitor says they've talked to Nook, and then they recommend a villager to replace, they'll say something like "how about Rocket? should we see if they wanna move?" you gotta close the game out there, if that conversation ends, the visitor will only replace the villager they mentioned, if you reset before the convo hits it'll be different. My brother wasn't getting that and kept getting frustrated lol

Eventually, is going backwards a problem because not having the correct date would really bother me.

going backwards isn't a problem at all, but you definitely, definitely want to make sure no new villagers are moving in before you reset the clock. it can glitch their house.

so long as all your villagers are moved in and stuff, you can just synchronize your Switch's clock with the internet again and the game is none the wiser.

When someone new moves in, I always move forward each day of the process (plot, in house unpacking, and fully moved in). I only go to the end of 2020 before going back to the current date and starting over. I've rushed through the last half of the year quite a few times. lol

I decided to do this last once the rest of my island is decorated. Now my rocks all spawn in the same area and it should be easier once I get around to choosing the exact spot.

Cover the area where they spawn with custom paths leaving only the exact spots you want the rocks to appear open. They will fill them all in over the course of a handful of days time traveling.
