For the past week or two I had been feeling like a successful evening of play meant a lot of terraforming/island design/island decoration and I was starting to get burnt out on it. Even though I’m in the middle of a big project (starting to feel like I will perpetually be in the middle of some big project and kinda okay with it tbh it gives the game a ton of longevity) and I took the might off to just fish and fuck around with my villagers and it was super refreshing and fun.

Oh and to whoever asked about Elvis earlier, right after I responded he asked if he wanted to move out haha. He was cool but I was fine with letting him go because I had two cranky villagers and I preferred Boyd. I’m in a good spot because I have one of every personality type (and two lazy) so I’m cool with absolutely anyone to replace Elvis. I’ve got enough miles for about 30 tickets and I’m searching for best available rather than certain personality types. I’m pumped. I know some people don’t care about their neighbors buts it’s one of my favorite parts of the game.

Has anyone gotten a villager portrait yet? I’m still waiting for my first. I recently found out that if you wrap gifts before giving them to villagers you get an extra friendship point out of it. I think you can get like 5 points max each day (more if they have a flea because that’s like 4 or 5 points alone) and I believe you need to be at 150 before they can give you their portrait.

 

I would ask to take Elvis but I’m waiting on like 3 trades, bleh

You have to time travel, mostly.

 

Is there any trick to this? I had several at best friend level and never got any

 

How do you check the friend level?

He was one of my original 2 villagers so I've just been talking to him a lot and giving him gifts frequently. Pretty sure he eventually gave me the picture as a reward for catching a fish for him.

 

That’s what I mean, I was giving them gifts every day and doing whatever favors they asked but never got any
