if I have 10 villagers new people won’t pop up when I travel to mystery islands right

 

Correct - if one of those ten asks to move away and you let them, then on the day they're gone new villagers will pop up on Nook Islands, but if you don't pick someone that day, you get a random. Villagers can come to your campsite even if you've got 10 in your island already tho

 

only my favorites have asked to leave so far

 

none of my villagers have wanted to leave and Celeste never came

Yeah, i've had way more campsite villagers than i've had my villagers ask to leave, and the only ones who have asked are the ones i'm not letting go lol

 

I’ve had two camp site villagers come by since the game started. I’m convinced something is wrong.
