I’ve noticed that sometimes the islanders houses have benches and sometimes they don’t. Looks like they use their storage too lol

 

Dang that's really cool actually, I wouldn't mind one of my rooms looking like that

 

I think it depends on when they get the house.

Apparently your starters get poorly furnished houses that never upgrade, 3-5 get okay houses than never upgrade, and then the remaining ones get good houses.

 

How do you get more villagers after the initial 3? I forgot

 

Good question, I'm curious too. I had one person randomly move in with me doing nothing after I got the 3 from visiting islands, but that's all I've gotten

 

Two start out on the island with you
Three more you can find on other Islands and get very early on. Tom Nook gives you housing kits and you gotta fill them with the right furniture
After getting the residential services and the campsite, you'll get your 6th villager at the campsite
Then Tom will sell you extra housing kits that gives you 7-10 which you can find on Islands.

 

About to use all my nook miles because I keep getting the worst possible villagers on these islands ugh

Ok so I guess I need the campsite. How do I get there? I have the residential service upgrade

 

When it upgrades, you’ll get it

 

I have someone moving in tomorrow that I didn't recruit and they weren't from the camp site. No idea how it happened but hopefully it's a good one.

 

You forgot to recruit? Click on the sign and it should tell you who’s moving in

 

So I didn't realize the Simple Wooden Fence you get from Nook isn't also taught to you, and just started a garden with them and then ran out - any chance anyone has the DIY recipe (or just a bunch of them) and could help me out? I could supply whatever is needed to craft them.
