Have you tried the diamond of holes trick to catch the taruntula? Basically, dig up a big diamond of holes so you can easily hop over them while running at an angle, and if you jump it, the tarantula can't get in but will keep trying to attack you so it's easy to just catch it right at the edge of the hole
never had problems catching a tarantula. i have 2 methods: 1. if it catches me running, i just run away and after gaining some distance, turn around and throw the net. this almost always succeed. 2. hold the net in position, if its front legs are up i stop. once it calms down i move towards it until it readies to attack - stop again until it calms. and then just repeat until i’m at a distance where i can just release the net button

Yeah I was doing something similar but occasionally would still miss. But what kept happening was one slightly out of view would ambush me
