Past games have been 8 character limits so I think some sites got it wrong for AC:NH. I see most sources are reporting 10 characters, and these are from sites that have already been able to play the game.
To bridge the Nintendo/Epcot gap, here’s a photo of me from 2007 with a Pokémon hat posing with this Maelstrom sign
My brother has a bunch of streaming equipment and wants me to stream my first time playing this with him tomorrow, so that should be a fun quarantine distraction!
Here, I've never played this but now's as good a time as ever to start - sell me on it and I'll pick it up over the weekend as I've always seen the name come up but haven't investigated the appeal!
I'll give it my best shot! Animal Crossing is all about existing on a colorful island inhabited by colorful villagers with unique personalities. It's a game you can play when you only have 10 or 15 minutes, and it's also a game you can sit down and play all afternoon/night depending on what you like to do to keep yourself busy. Everyone will have a slightly different focus when they play the game. There are overarching "objectives" like paying down your home loan to upgrade it in size. In the past, you go from a tiny one room shack all the way to 5 or 6 larger rooms spread across multiple floors. You can decorate your house with furniture that you craft, buy from the shop, or get as gifts from other villagers! There's also a huge amount of customization in this one. You can craft a basic wooden bench, but then you can put your own designs on it to make it unique! Speaking of the design portion of the game, you can also make patterns to put on clothes, your phone case, the town flag, etc etc! The island is also yours to decorate however you want. All the trees, paths, flowers, location of your neighbors homes, all placed by you. You can also catch bugs, go fishing, and dig up fossils. All of those items can be donated to the town museum to be put on display, can be displayed in your own house, or sold for bells (the game's currency). All in all, it's a slow grind! I think after 100 hours you're probably barely scratching the surface, but everyone is different in how much time they get out of the game. It's super relaxing. Play however you want. I hope you get it!
I played the GameCube Animal Crossing religiously when I was a kid. Never played the DS/3DS games but I preordered this one. Perfect game to come out during this crisis. Looking forward to seeing all the new changes.
Oh man, that's gonna be awesome. I've played all of them with the exception of City Folk on the Wii, with most of my time going to GameCube and 3DS. The changes from GameCube to New Horizons are going to be insane for you.
Forgot there was a Wii one too. I still have my GameCube and Animal Crossing disc. I was thinking about checking out my old town tonight before I jump in to the new game.
I was going to name my island Westeros, but I'm not sure if that will just be a constant reminder of how much of a let down that final series was. Otherwise I'm totally stumped. Maybe Hyrule, but that feels uninspired.
Do you hate capitalism? Because if so this is the perfect game for you because you become a capitalist with cute animal friends and you’ll get addicted.
