It’s kinda creepy when someone opens the gates and randos just start showing up to the island, there’s just a strange element there.
Every time I use the Nook Miles ticket it takes me to a very similar island. Always with the same fruit I already have.

Has happened to me the last 4 or 5 times, either a circular island with one pond in the middle and my native pears, or the bamboo island.
