Defeat is pretty solid

 

New album is called “Isn’t It Now?” and comes out September 29, based on listings from some EU record shops. They just started sending some teasers too

Yeah! And suspected to be far superior to Time Skiffs. They had a bunch of material pre-covid but then they had to record remotely. So for Time Skiffs they were kinda forced to only include songs they could pull off remotely. This next album is the more organic material that they wanted to record together in person. I believe it’ll be one brand new song plus all of the unreleased live songs they’ve been playing the past few years

Side-note… What are y’all’s fav albums from an AnCo side project? Listened to Avey Tare’s album 7’s from early this year and it was really great. I also enjoy mostly everything I’ve heard from Panda Bear. But I’m not as familiar with the side project stuff as I want to be.

 

Honestly I get so excited before every single solo album but then I end up really loving only a few songs each time. Avey has some high highs but I think Panda's albums are more consistent. Overall favorites, I'd probably say...

I’m excited for this cause Time Skiffs is great but man Defeat is too long to get through, doesn’t sustain my interest enough but I’ll keep listening hopefully it’ll click better.

 

I'm going to revisit Time Skiffs once again, but honestly I enjoyed Defeat more than I remember enjoying anything on the album

Time Skiffs is their best in years. Defeat is great too, reminds me of Sung Tongs era

 

Defeat is sweet but I massively prefer Prester John, just to pick one

 

Time Skiffs was so good, especially after my disappoint with the the last few things they had done and Panda Bears Buoys. Time Skiff and Reset within a few months of each other was really cool.
