This is my favorite album by them since Feels, I think. I liked Time Skiffs a lot, but this is exactly what I look for in an AC record and a major step forward. Melodic, entrancing, with a whole lot of weird. Absolutely fantastic all the way through—just totally immersive and unpredictable—and I got chills multiple times during my first listen.

hmm. i don’t really hear that. seems like a logical continuation of time skiffs to me, which makes sense since most the songs were written together

Twenty years on, 'Sung Tongs' is still Animal Collective at their most elemental

Probably my favorite AC album.

 

Went back to the recently remastered Spirit They’re Gone this morning and it’s such a special album. Wild how they were visionaries from the very beginning

Really digging the Panda Bear album

 

yeah this is the most ive liked a PB album in a long time. great first listen.

 

It’s awesome. Between this and Reset (and two very good Animal Collective albums) bit of a late career renaissance for him.
