was so bummed I missed out on a show down the street but was able to get tickets through a waiting list today
saw angie tonight with just a guitar. they played a bunch of new music from the album, we’re in for something special.
Definitely misread this as Andrew McMahon and thought, “goddamn, another record already?” although misreading that has now put an artist I have not heard of before on my list to check out, so score a point for misreading!
https://youtube.com/shorts/o87iPwi4l-Y?si=qFtIhiwDizvISYC5 I guess shorts don’t embed on Chorus, but she did the game where you have to guess the song and win money on the streets of NYC.
I haven’t listened yet but I will shortly. However, I want to air my frustrations (lightly haha) that she’s going on tour next year and hitting all the major cities on the East and West Coast but skipping the Midwest, especially because the only time she’s ever played in Chicago was opening for Hozier pre-pandemic who I a) do not listen to and b) did not want to pay his prices to see an opening set from her. Hopefully more dates are added for next year.
add another person to the list of folks who came in here thinking it was andrew mcmahon. and glad i did. this was fantastic. gonna try to see her in nyc in march.
Finally got around to this one and wow, instantly one of my favorite songwriter records of the year. Great mix of Florence, Maggie, and Feist but with her own sound and story. @cshadows2887 @Craig Manning check it if you haven't!
FINALLY. Ever since she came here with Hozier (who I do not listen to, so that + the ticket price made it not worth going) pre-pandemic, I have been waiting for her to come back to Chicago, and it is finally happening.
