Rebel Girl & All That's Left Is Love aren't singles from the new album is what I can make out from what Tom said on the Interview on BBC Radio 1.
This new song and Kiss and Tell are solid. Shaping up to be my favorite record since I-Empire (which fell short of WDNTW for me). Also how does Tom always land kickass drummers? Ilan killing it here as always
I was happy to hear Ilan joining the band years ago. Ever since I saw him perform with Denver Harbor (Lead singer of Fenix Tx’s side project-great album) I followed him and found out he was a student of Travis, and he performed in a bunch of my favorite bands! (Paramore, NIN, and Lostprophets before the horror)
Ilan is a goddamn machine. That dude knows his shit. I went down a rabbit hole one night researching him.
I hope these 3 new songs don’t end up on the album. I hope the album is all new songs we haven’t heard yet. Not that I don’t like these new songs, bc I do....but even if two of the three are on it...that only leaves 8 songs we haven’t heard. I don’t like that lol.
Yeah, this is exactly why I don’t like this type of marketing/release campaign... If I were releasing something, knowing how I already feel as a consumer, I’d want to do like 2 singles or a 3 song EP (of complete stand alone music) and then maybe the lead single of the record, then have a good, fresh 10-12 tracks total for the album release.
Maybe unpopular opinion but I absolutely hate loose tracks from artists, it's always annoying to me when singles that get released don't end up on any albums and I always end up listening to those songs way less than the ones that did make it
Tom just said on an Instagram Live interview that he decided to add a couple more songs to the album bc they wrote some more stuff that he really likes.
