Pretty typical AVA song outside of a couple of bits. The bridge part from the preview was cool. Feels like 6 different old songs combined as usual haha.
Like the other two new songs it’s fine but forgettable which is how I felt about almost every AVA song since iEmpire.
I felt the same way about Kiss & Tell where it sounds busy. Almost sounds like 3 different songs are happening at once.
Yeah it’s solid... not bad, not great. There’s parts I really do like about it... idk... just falls a little flat in others.
This sounds like if Love Pt 2 had a producer. I like it! Not grabbing me as immediately as the other two songs, but the production is great, and I love those Ooooh Ohhhhhh harmonies.
immediately what I thought of in the beginning, too! song is pretty forgettable, for me. Listened once, and an hour later I couldn’t tell you a single thing about it... except that the beginning sounds like I’m Lost Without You.
Yeah, I've listened to this song six times and I'm already feeling bored of it... Unlike the other two songs he recently released where I was easily up to twenty listens and seeking another go around. Honestly, this song was just decently okay... I wouldn't skip it if it was on the album, but I'm not rushing back to listen to it again. So for for me, having 2/3 of great songs isn't bad (still really enjoying RG and K&T) just more excited for the full album to get eventually released. Hoping the energetic demos/clips he released on his instagram make the cut for this album... This one in particular I'm most hyped for (from 1:27 to 1:52) Also apparently this song was written recently, inspired by the whole pandemic going on right now;
the way the backing vocals develop through that song is actually super cool not their best, but if they really recorded that whole thing in two weeks, nice thing to do for your fans
I love the delivery of the line "ALL THATS LEFT IS LOVE!" Not the greatest song, but that's really cool that they wrote & recorded it so quickly.
Sounds like an album cut from one of the LOVE albums but it's pretty good. Rebel Girl is one of the best songs he's made in a long time though
Yeah, this one is kind of a dud for me. Not even wanting to go back to it. Rebel Girl and Kiss & Tell were pleasant surprises. This sounds like a song they wrote 10 times over already.
Uh oh...its growing on me. The more I listen to it, it gives me the same feeling I get when I listen to "When Were You When The Sky Opened Up" by The Dangerous Summer. That song also had to grow on me when I first heard it.
A good part of that album sounds like what I wish AVA had become. I'd just listen to that if I'm in the mood for it lol
“I’m Always Going To Try Things That People Think I Can’t Do:" The Reinvention Of Tom DeLonge — Kerrang!
I know Tom loves to talk up his current projects, but him saying this new album is in the top 3 of his career has got me really excited. Mainly because Rebel Girl and Kiss & Tell are stellar and have set my expectations pretty high. Also, he says they're currently doing final tracking right now and the album should be done in 60 days. So maybe a September release?
Caught Tom’s interview on Apple Music earlier and they played a bit of the new song kicking it off with the riff (around the 0:40 mark)... 100% made the song better IMO.
