First time they ever played True Love (Star of Bethlehem) live, before it was released.

 

I remember downloading the bootleg of that song from the show because it wasn’t released yet lol.

 

Whats cool about AVA is that they can get away with changing their set-list up regularly. That's honestly why I'd pay to see them again even though I saw them like a month and a half ago lol.

 

Loving all the activity. Ready for a new album.

 

Was cleaning out my emails and came across one that said my merch bundle was to be picked up at the merch table on day of show (9/6). Email was sent to me like a week before my show on and about 5 months after I purchased my tickets. Weirdly they mentioned that tickets would have to be picked up on location, and i randomly received them in the mail instead.

Bummer, always wondered what happened with that and if I’d ever get it lol. Thought they would mail it out separately from the ticket.

PLUS, I ended up buying a shirt at merch table the night and the girl gave me a XL instead of L. So double loss for me

 

SOUND RINK IS THE PITS. I hate them and will never buy from them again and I hope to continue to spread this message.

I’ve been on an insane AVA kick. Mainly Love PT 2 through the Chasing Shadows EP.

The last two EPs are great

 

Dang that Valkyrie Missile riff just takes me BACK.....

 

I was listening to Parasomnia on my walk last night and it set the mood

 

Valkyrie is still so awesome. That outro is still one of their best sections of any song they wrote.

also, The Revelator and One Last Thing have become my favorite songs on Love PT 2.

 

I think I remember when I first saw the original AVA website that was just the clouds saying "coming soon" or whatever. Excitement off the scale. I think they had the Missile snippet with the "everyone everyone will listen" that faded out. Tremendous! haha.

 

Kind of shifting topics a little, but one thing I always loved about the STM documentary was how all of the WDNTW songs sounded acoustic, when they were just playing/demoing in the studio...

Valkyrie especially... that riff just sounded RICH on acoustic guitar.

 

yes! I remember specifically it faded out and you could hear "even if it..." and it drove me and my friend nuts haha

 

still wish he'd finish the full album acoustically. I really like the EP but just bummed it's only the 4 songs.

 

I definitely remember him posting clips on Instagram of Good Day, The War and A Little's Enough. I wonder why he never released everything.

 

Same... Tom getting all over-ambitious again, can't just sit down and complete one thing at a time lol. The more "driving" chorus on that version of Valkyrie was freakin' good too!

 

And Start the Machine... he broke out that little piano again and everything too.

 

Valkyrie came on the other day and I heard things I never heard before when they were talking in that intro / outro part. Kinda like listening to Tiny Voices by BCR and picking out different snippets of those convos they included.

Pretty cool.

 

Yes! And I remember the first video they had on their website of all of the members sitting around a table discussing the band. I think it was called “First Contact”.
