It's been implied that Rebel Girl and Kiss & Tell will be on the new album, right? Weird that the first single will have come out almost a year before the actual album.

 

He’s says some of the weirdest stuff and just lets his brain run with no idea how the sentence will end. I love it.

Travis commented on Tom's latest IG post. Something like "Won't sound like BCR without me."

 

Clip sounds awesome. Also Travis's comment is awesome and true lol.

Travis definitely went hard on BCR... and his drum sound on that record is gigantic. I still remember being kinda taken back and blown away by how powerful All Systems Go sounded, the first time I heard it...

 

Even better than part one. Love the insight into the whole blink drama / solo ep.

 

Aaron looks a lot like Rabea Massaad in that photo, it's scary.

Rubin mentions that the blink drama really put a damper finishing Dream Walker and really came as a shock to Tom et al. Also mentions that he was engineering Tom's blink demos for next album and when everything went down, Tom just wanted to be done with those demos which is why Odds and Ends exists.

 

Not gonna lie. I am definitely in the camp that thought Tom cobbled together those demos last minute as "proof" he still wanted to do blink stuff. I'm glad to hear that I'm wrong though, honestly just happy for both bands right now.

 

Does he mention what kind of drama with blink? I'm assuming he means the quiting/fired/break up but the time line doesn't match up. Dream Walker was released on 12/9/14. Tom, Mark and Travis signed a record contract on 12/24/14 to go into the studio on 1/5/15. On 12/30/14 Mark and Travis got the "Tom.Is.Out." email from Tom's manager. On 1/27/15 Mark and Travis announced Skiba was going to replace Tom for the Musink shows. According to Mark and Travis although they hadn't spoken to Tom in person for months (everything was done via email) in the fall of 2014 talks between them were pretty positive as they were talking about when and where to record and what producer to use. So unless there was something unknown that was never mentioned (which is possible) I don't understand those comments by Rubin.

 

I may have misheard as I was working at the time but maybe he said it dampened the post release vibe of Dream Walker. Might go back and listen later to clarify.

 

This is correct. He was talking about how it happened only a month after The Dream Walker came out, and it brought down Tom's view on playing music in general. Sounds like it could also be why they never played shows for The Dream Walker. Tom was just over it at that time.
