Tom is so excited about these shows selling out that he’s legit posting separate announcement posts on Instagram haha.
I wonder how many meet and greets are sold per show. 100? 200? I've never actually done one so this is my first. Im only expecting to wait in a line, walk up to them, talk for 1 minute, take a photo, then there went my $200 LOL
You know, I was thinking about doing VIP to give David back an OG AVA guitar pick he gave me in 2006 at their first ever Chicago show. Then i realized I live in San Diego and can give it back to him anytime at his coffee shop. He’s always around and always chats with people. Super humble dude. $200 saved lol.
Yeah I mean ... I definitely hope that’s the plan in Boston. For Boston peeps, in holding out hope for a 2nd show on the 16th. They are off that night before NY on Tuesday. Also Paradise I don’t think has a show booked yet that night.
I remember first seeing AVA in 2006 at the Vic Theatre in Chicago. That was 1,000 people. Then they played an outdoor amphitheater that was between 8,000-9,000 capacity. Now, HOB in San Diego is 1,000 for the main stage. Never realized how small it actually was. Makes sense as to why a ton of shows sell out there. Stoked. 1,000 GA tickets get sold at a total of $56 total (with Taxes and fees) each. Thats $56,000 total for one night. I wonder how much the band will get from that after other parties get their cut.
I'd say their guarantee is in the 25k - 30k/night range. Agents/managers take their slice of that, and then add merch on top of it.
I wasn't sure I was gonna go to this but it looks like I'm still a total sucker for Tom lol. Going to the MD show
