Sounds like Tom is playing his Fender Strat on this song. Definitely noticeable on Chasing Shadows, so it's cool to see him continue with this tone
Honestly this may be the most sane he's seemed in a bit. I feel like he went through a crisis and pushed a lot of people away - but now he's coming back around. Sometimes to find yourself you must lose yourself.
I like the song! It's great to hear his voice again too. With all his fuckery the past couple years I tend to forget how much I fucking like this dude lol I'll go to the tour for sure, I only actually ever got to see him live once ever
Peter McKinnon said, "I grew up with posters of Angels and Airwaves on my walls. They were the soundtrack to my life." He's 33 years old. AvA launched in 2006. Is he grouping all of Tom's music in with AvA? Isn't he also in business with David's coffee company?
Maybe so, but keep in mind, they've basically done nothing since 2014. That sort of rhetoric typically applies to childhood and teenage years.
Love Part One I-Empire We Don't Need to Whsiper Love Part Two The Dream Walker I do like Love 2 better than DW as a whole, but the best songs on the latter is a little better than on the former.
Finally listening to the new AVA song. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it, it was kind of just there for me which pretty much sums up my thoughts on Tom's non blink music since I-Empire. I'll listen to the rest of the album when it comes out but can't say I'm excited or will go out of my way to listen to the song again. But I am glad for all the people that did like the song and are excited about the new AVA album. Tom was one of the biggest influences on me musically growing up, it's a shame I'm just not really a fan of his type of music anymore. Still hopeful I'll like the other songs.
Got my NYC tickets on the presale. I can't believe they now charge $15 for standard delivery of hard tickets, and $6 for holding at will call.
Never saw this live video of Sirens before, Tom actually sounds pretty decent! I'm assuming he's using autotune.......why doesnt he just use this for all live shows?
gotta wonder what the setlist's gonna look like for the tour. gonna take a guess (no order): The Adventure It Hurts The War Call to Arms Everything's Magic Secret Crowds Young London Hallucinations Surrender Anxiety All That We Are The Wolfpack Tunnels Anomaly There Is/I Miss You (cover) Rebel Girl new song new song new song i'm sure it'll be like three songs shorter to make room for atmospheric space sound bullshit transitions though
I bet they don't do Saturday Love anymore....I'd replace that with Valkyrie Missile. I can't stand Surrender but damnit they're probably gonna play it anyway. I'd love it if they played Overload and Diary too.
Valkyrie Missile has a good chance to even be the opener, i dislike Video Killed the Radio Star but it sounded good opening their Love 2 shows, so i think it'd have some staying power. Young London though has a better chance than both, forgot about it but they played it all the time according to setlist.fm. totally forgot about the EPs as well lol maybe Ilan makes them play one song off of them. Diary would be awesome as a recorded opener, no way they're playing it themselves.
They definitely opened up at least one show with the Diary intro and Ilan on drums but then built it up until the vocals come in then went into another song. Edit:
