damn that means this tour is still half a ear from now. was hoping for summer

 

The last time AVA played Chicago on the Love tour was at the Aragon (a 5k cap venue). I can see them coming back to the HOB, which is 1.4k.

 

im thinking starland ballroom if they play NJ. Or Stone Pony. NYC would be Irving Plaza or Webster Hall.

 

Oh sweet. It’s really easy to meet artists at that venue

 

I enjoyed it but paid just about no attention to the lyrics. I’ll listen again later. I wasn’t appalled though and I went in expecting to be!

The lyrics are bad but it’s probably the best thing Tom has done in a long time.

 

Reminds me of Anxiety a bit

I dig it. The lyrics are a bit cheesy but I prefer this over complete nonsense

 

ugh not a fan, was hoping for something like Anxiety/Paralyzed but it sounds like This is Home by blink all over again. hype deflated

 

Quite liked this too; simple, catchy, fresh

 

This song is better than "Hold Up a Light."

 

Catchy. I like it. And any AVA single that doesn’t include a 3 minute soundscape astronaut sounds intro is a good start.

The song instrumentally reminds me of LOVE a lot, in that it's very bouncy & cheesy sounding (More 80's synth-pop influenced than AVA's normal space rock style.) but it seems very fun. The songwriting is fine, but I feel like Tom shines more when he's doing his big atmospheric stuff, or writing fun punk jams, and sort of falls flat when writing pop stuff, but this seems to be the exception to the rule. Would love to hear this on the radio.

Also "Baroque & hearted" kills me rvery time
