The key to a good trailer is playing all of the most over-acted dialogue lines in rapid sucession. For real though, when the main character goes "Dad NEVER thought I was crazy!" I absolutely lost it because I can't believe they kept that take.
his dad must be REAL important, because I think every single character briefly mentions him at least 57 times in the trailer, lol
"Dad is gone." "Dad never thought I was crazy!" I mean, come on. Those deliveries were like The Room level bad. The trailer also gives no indication of what the plot is whatsoever lol.
It's clearly aware of how campy it is - have you guys never seen Piranha 3D?! Lighten up, have some fun and stop paying attention to what Tom is doing if you're no longer fans.
I'll grow a Boomer mustache for one month if this is as good and stupid fun as Piranha 3D. I like a whole lot of Alexandre Aja movies, including the recent Crawl. I'm putting that possibility at a zero percent for a first time director and having seen this trailer.
this is the production company: With Cartel Pictures (Sorted by Popularity Ascending) - IMDb The guy in charge of VFX is also the guy who ran Modlife. At least LOVE had some cool DIY stories
Yeah the Patreon looked like it was going to be cool and then it fizzled out pretty early in the pandemic. Seemed like he may of had some gnarly things happen in his personal life that put it on the backburner. But he's also continually done a ton of recording and writing for artists, not to mention opening a new studio so *shrug emoji* I believe I'm actually still paying but there hasn't been anything of substance in like two years, except a few months ago I think he put out two demos. If memory serves, we got three three-song EP's that he had in his vault, a bonus track from Lilac and then there was supposed to be a record written on livestreams with Patreon supporters. This actually started to get off the ground and was a pretty interesting idea, from which we got - I believe - three demos and then the project was abandoned. Also, all of these things happened in 2020. Seems like he's also talked about livestream acoustic shows and hangs and those usually get canceled at the last minute. He did one with Jeff one time that was fun - again, 2020. But this also happened with the recording of Gold Rush. He started that Mess Of The Month club where we were supposed to get new music every month for like at least a year - among other perks - and I think it only got like four or five months in? I will say, I say all of these things still being the absolute biggest fan of his and will follow that man to the ends of the earth, listening to every single thing he puts out with greatest anticipation. Just doesn't seem like he - like pretty much all musicians, frankly - knows how to properly run subscription services.
https://consequence.net/2022/06/tom-delonge-sekret-machines-television/ One of his Sekret Machine books is being made into a television series by Legendary Entertainment
Was hyped to learn that yesterday. Also learned the minimum investment you can make on TTS is 150 shares for $750. I know some of you were trying to claim he's "taking advantage of fans" with the Reg A investment stuff but I doubt the average AVA fan is dropping $750 on TTS stock.
Read the first SM book at a rapid clip, but couldn't finish the second one. That said - that shit is made for a series and not a movie. I will definitely check it out.
Is it actually being made or did they just grab the rights? Because rights are being snagged all day long in Hollywood.
The "Tom is about the money" argument is so dumb to me. If he only cared about money he'd be playing with blink still.
There's a producer on board, so I imagine it's actually being made. Doesn't look like they secured a network/streaming service for it yet, though.
