Letters to God 2 is the only part 1 song I enjoy that's not Flight of Apollo one of his most emotional songs imo
Pretty dope of them to include a non-signed album cover if you got the signed vinyl. Love the packaging and booklet too.
Modest Mouse recently did the same thing. Are bands now catching on to people may want to display them in a frame? I see it as an option for larger bands.
every time someone tells me I should listen to that album, I give it another shot, and it's never good. But fine, I will listen to that one song, just for you...........
TDW is a great album, but it doesn't sound very AVA-ish. A lot of the songs sound very dark and melodramatic, and I like most of the songs The Wolfpack & Mercenaries are the only songs that sound like they fit in an AVA live set.
I was obsessed with DW when it came out. Dead of winter, driving around in the snow….the Poet Anderson short film was a cool addition too.
Let me what you think. It’s pretty much the only one I go back to regularly from that album. Would have been an awesome Blink song.
TDW is easily my favorite (well, until Lifeforms came out but I still don’t know which I prefer) the production is dogshit though so I can understand people not liking it
Not sure if this was mentioned today, but Tom is on the Peer Pleasure podcast this week. Came out today.
I really appreciated TDW’s darker and more experimental approach. It’s unashamedly rough at times and throws the occasional curveball. The highs are extremely high and it seldom gives you what you’d expect from AVA, but then when it does, it makes it all the better… (Tunnels and Tremors) Still would put Lifeforms below TDW… it just feels a bit more predictable. The tunes are stronger in some aspects, but the predictability factor, for me, drags it down a bit.
I’m with whoever said TDW is by far the worst aside of Mercenaries….that one song is absolutely killer….rest is just whatever. Lifeforms rules.
The Flight of Apollo Young London Shove Epic Holiday Hallucinations Some Origins of Fire Saturday Love Surrender Anxiety My Heroine One Last Thing Behold A Pale Horse All That We Are Put these together and WHAM-O. You've got an album with my favorite songs from the Love era.
