this is the silliest comparison i could ever make but the opening of "time bomb" reminds me really heavily of underworld's "juanita"
"No More Guns" is 100% a Green Day song, has anyone mentioned that yet? Not a bad thing, but totally true
It also reminds me Sum41’s Underclass Hero era which makes sense since Sums went fully Green Day on that album haha
Man what a refreshing and surprising return to form after so long. This album has a such a powerful feeling of rebirth and excitement that I can't help but draw parallels to what Tom must have gone through the past couple years. I'm so happy for him to be doing what he loves and enjoying it as much as he is right now. My only frustration was hearing so many of these songs sooooo freaking early. So be it if it works for the Spotify streaming generation but man it takes so much away from that first listen magic. Of course I say this all when I couldn't restrain myself from listening to new Tom music for that long haha.
I also love those “Da da das” (or whatever are those) in intro of No More Guns so bad haha…one of my favorite songs on album for sure
Very pleased. Automatic is wow, notably the guitar sound. I'd love to love "Timebomb" but it reminds me way too much of "Rollercoaster" by Bleachers in the chorus.
I just had a proper sit down blast/listen on the couch with a beer with this album and I cant help but feel like there's one last song missing. Maybe its because Kiss and Tell has been out for so long, but I feel like the "deluxe" release will have a proper closer. Maybe K&T would have hit harder on a first listen with the rest of the album. The quality though throughout this album is fantastic.
I didn't really listen to the pre-album singles and honestly the way Kiss & Tell ends is kinda a perfect album ending
This is solid. There's no song that I really love but every track stands out in it's own way. The verses on Spellbound are probably my favourite thing on here for now and Automatic was a nice surprise. Will definitely be coming back to this.
The synths are actually really good on this. Makes me want to listen to New Order and that's a compliment.
Guys, I’m horny for Nameless Town type songs. This was a great album EDIT: 7.5 outta 10 literally. That’s great for Tom nowadays for me. EDIT 2 : round that shit up. 8/10 fo. sho. No More Guns is the weakest song here, but happy that people actually like it because s they’res a weird dynamic between Tommy songs.
The album is great! Each and every song is different. The lyrics are the weakest part of it. But I get that Tom wants to focus on a younger generation with singing about a girl in each and every song. My top 5 from the album: 01. Automatic 02. Timebomb 03. Losing My Mind 04. A Fire a Nameless Town 05. Euphoria
Yeah the lyrics are definitely the weakest aspect. Spellbound is one of my favourite songs on here but I can't help but cringe at the "like having sex while on fire" line... Overall there's a lot to like here. Every song sounds different which I really dig. Something that has arguably been an issue with the last few blink releases for me.
