I forgot where I read it, perhaps @Jason Tate mentioned it, that the advance copies now days have digital signatures embedded to the files to discourage people leaking them.
The process of sending them to people got wayyyyy better. Used to be rogue zip files and bespoke systems, now there's like 3-4 that everyone uses.
I still think it's crazy how that one guy was responsible for so many leaks that came from that CD packaging plant.
Ironic that the band switched labels because they felt like Columbia would do a better job marketing them.
I've always wondered what/if Tom thought about the new Blink music, this is really interesting. Can't help but feel like the "old songs on tour" comment was a bit of a shot
I actually don’t think so. I feel like it’s an honest answer from him and not his usual spin BS especially because right after he admits while he wanted to put out new music he didn’t feel like doing it. He has talked about being bored playing the same songs over and over again in the past and Mark and Travis talked about how Tom didn’t want to even rehearse for tours.
The Time Bomb snippet that's on YouTube sounds amazing. Getting mega Ghost on the Dancefloor vibes from it
Fuckin finally! I enjoyed it. Should start the album off nicely. It’s catchy and could probably fit on I-Empire, IMO. Probably won’t end up being a favorite of mine though. Losing My Mind and Restless Souls are just so damn good lol.
I've listened to every single they've put out only twice, and can confirm that Losing My Mind is the most catchy of them all. I can still sing the chorus whereas I've basically forgotten what the other songs sound like. Timebomb is great though.
Not digging the production on time bomb as much as the live. It seems like there's a lot less urgency. Regardless still the best stuff Tom's done since Neighbourhoods IMO.
DED was better than Neighborhoods, but I agree this new AVA album is shaping up well. Probably will be in their top 3, if not the best.
I'm glad I didn't listen to any live versions. Just like demo versions of songs leaking before the actual release. It's ruined so many songs for me in the past (Dreamwalker for example).
Tom DeLonge Opens Up About Government Secrets, "Paranormal Stuff" and How It Felt to Quit Blink-182 The Exclaim! Questionnaire | Exclaim!
It’s so weird. It like a comment about how he doesn’t want something, but doesn’t want someone else to have it, even though they were part of it too. And not taking interest in the current status of a band you want to get into, then sloughing off the idea of playing a bunch of old songs and wanting to busy doing your own thing or being a parent is just so weird. Basically, you can’t have it all. This answers just sound like he has a huge ego (I will keep in mind it’s only 2 questions from an interview so in the context of the interview as a whole the ego thing may be less).
so the only 3 songs left are no more guns, automatic, and fire in nameless town. And jason said no more guns sorta sucks...so 2 left? womp womp
Yeah, I was looking at the tracklist in Apple Music earlier and noticed those last three songs and realized that I've heard snippets of the chorus for Automatic and No More Guns from Reddit, so I've basically heard the main points of each song. Feels like there's nothing left and the album hasn't come out yet haha. The hype has drastically dropped, but definitely still excited to hear it in full.
