Hearing Tom sing “I said we're not alone and the government knows it” puts a huge smile on my face everytime I hear it.
I just went for a run outside and listened to this song. Right after that little gap, an actual car honked near me. The timing was so close haha.
Oh snap, looks like he's also got production/writing credits for Restless Souls and Euphoria! Very cool, the bass lines on all three of those drive the songs. Interestingly Aaron Rubin also has writing credits on every song. Ironic, considering when California came out Tom was making comments about how he'd never work with an outside songwriter. Glad he's coming around, he's always had great ideas but it's clear a producer helps bring the best out of him.
Re: Tom's silly side, didn't he release a first script tease for Strange Times that only involved some dudes penis flopping around? And release a book about a dude losing his clothes? When has Tom stopped being silly lol
Looks like they had a pretty nice size crowd last night. Wish I was there to see them on a bigger stage like that. This lineup just seems to be having so much fun when they play too. I love seeing it. Rubano is such a perfect addition. I wonder if back in 2006 when AVA was opening up for TBS he ever thought to himself “one day, I’ll be in a band with Tom from blink-182 and AVA” haha. Lucky SOB.
AVA ruled last night and the onstage fun was palpable. New songs went over well with the crowd. The double time chorus at the end of Euphoria was HUGE.
I guess I am eating my hat. I added all the songs they've put out so far plus the feature and Covi track and... I like them ALL. This is shaping up to be the second best AVA release for me. Very happy for Tom and stoked to hear him on Mark's show today.
Looking at the After School page on Apple, I'm guessing these are available to listen to after, correct? I'd like to save it to listen at work tomorrow since I'm in EST lol
Some good stuff on the radio show last night… the story about Tom waiting around, getting drunk (in the meantime), and then calling out Mel Gibson for being late to their interview was hilarious.
If Spellbound is released, then including Timb Bomb live and the Automatic clip, we will have heard what 8/10 of the songs are like.
