I was gonna say too, early on I was kind of getting a Tremors feel, and I think the break in that teaser pushed it even further in that direction… obviously not in a repetitive way. Good, coastal vibes…
I really was out here this whole time just… not listening to this band for no real reason. Been getting hooked on them lately though, stoked to see them at Lolla
Watched that Time Bomb performance a few times, that chorus is great. Also surprised they didn't play Lose My Mind at this warm up show, considering it's the next single.
From the clips, Lose My Mind sounds like one of the most promising songs Tom's released in a long, long time. Ready for it.
I've still only heard Rebel Girl and Kiss and Tell (I think), gonna try to keep it that way until the album is out
I think I’m going to hold off on Losing My Mind and the live Time Bomb video and any more songs until the album. There’s still 8 weeks until this is released and 5 of the 10 songs are already officially released (with Time Bomb that would make 6). I imagine more will be released, too. I want to have as much as I can as new for when the album releases.
yeah that was great. i wish the chorus did a liiiiittle more, but i still like it a lot. the verses are really cool. wasn't expecting to see boobs and a wiener at 6:30 AM but here we are.
Honestly, I think it's Tom's inability to really step outside of his usual thing, while the producer finds ways to make them sound different-ish from each other haha. Tom probably just sits back and says "that's rad" at whatever they do. That's how I imagine it goes, haha.
Yeah I think his songwriting process is still the same and it's usually the same intervals between chords or notes in melodies (I don't know the musical terminology haha) but the producer just puts a little modern sauce on it to freshen it up. I wouldn't say that much. I think he just adds little twists like slight time signature tweaks or electronic grooves and beeps and boops here and there. From the vids I've seen of them in the studio his job is basically to interpret the ideas Tom has in his head from the wacky way he describes what he wants to sound like but the core song writing is pretty much still all Tom. The verses sound pretty cool on that one though.
Losing my mind is sweet. Super catchy which I think is when Tom is at his best. Video is interesting haha. I was hoping for a boomer tease at the end haha.
