one of the most powerful voices (literally and figuratively) working in folk music

started with some low-key releases for Bathetic, but has since become a renowned figure, working with artists such as the legendary Bonnie "Prince" Billy

she seems to be up to something more synth-driven... probably a new album this year!

if you've never heard her music before, check her shit out... first albums are quiet and introspective, her latest included a more complete, rock-band configuration and sounds great too

I just saw the new song and have already listened to it about 5 times.

She has one of my two or three favorite voices in music right now. It's like she's a reincarnated version of Roy Orbison (if he came back as a twenty-something woman)

Absolutely cannot wait for the new album.

 

Show last night was great - some funny banter between her and the crowd, and Union Transfer is a perfect venue for her style of music. Majority of the songs were from My Woman as expected

 

went down the youtube rabbit hole of all her videos and performances. love this one in particular.
