In Columbia Record's defense, no one knew what to do with mid-level rock bands on a major record label in 2011. The number of stations playing that music had severely diminished as did the listenership.

They've been in their sweet spot their entire career! I want another album like Cope. It rocked so hard.
I don’t disagree, and I loved Cope too. Just something about Black Mile and these new singles feel a level above; the perfect fusion of the heaviness of Cope, the energy of METN, the production elements of Simple Math, etc. etc.
