Agree with this. I just gave this stuff a listen again this morning and it is still bad. The last record was so much more inspired...both lyrically and musically. Every one of the singles he has released on this cycle has been so generic, so bland.
Didn't he say he was going back in a Jack's Mannequin direction with more guitars and stuff? I'm not really hearing the JM influence...
has anyone seen the setlists for the solo tour he is doing? absolutely insane. Love and Great Buildings The Lights and the Buzz Fire Escape Canyon Moon Cavanaugh Park Holiday From Real So Close 21 and Invisible High Dive No Man is an Island I Kissed A Drunk Girl Straw Dog Waking in my Sleep Hammers and Strings I Woke Up in A Car Cecilia and the Satellite Dark Blue ----------------- Synesthesia La La Lie he also played Walking By and Miss America at another night
Two really special shows for me. Doris Day was so unexpected, as was Miss America. Really special moments. Worth the trip from Boston for sure.
a really good friend of mine is getting married on the same day as the NYC show (closest show for me) sooooo after seeing the set lists I think I'm going to have to take a little trip. i flew to chicago a few years ago for the Dear Jack benefit. might as well spend some money on this.
Nice! I flew out to Cali for the first SoCo reunion show, and there last two. Already have my ticket for the acoustic Boston show too!
If I remember correctly, he relearned Miss America for a friend who requested it. His wife loved the song and recently passed away. Again, I might have the story wrong, so if someone else was there please correct me.
This is random but can someone who has the CD/liner notes of "Everything in Transit" tell me who mastered the record? Jim Wirt produced, CLA mixed, but I can't seem to find any mastering engineer listed online. Thanks!
He just had an Instagram live session where he played a new song. Kinda hard to hear, but he said he’s got a Beach Boys inspiration on this record. I think the song was called “Get On My Wave”. Pretty neat!
