I agree with this. It's a catchy song and it's good (I don't think he's capable of making a bad song), but it's fairly generic and doesn't have the usual "I need to put this on repeat" quality his music has for me.
Yeah, this song easily would fit in the last album, his new success seems to be bringing out the need to nitpick and complain
Addicted to "Fire Escape". I like it more than just about anything on the AMitW S/T. swinging from the fire escape
Don't quite understand the condescension here, but yes I've heard many and this new wont sounds like one a bit. It also kind of sounds like that one SA song people mentioned above. It's still a really good song.
I was being sarcastic, but I definitely don't hear Lumineers at all. Where is the comparison? The backing vocals? Sounding like the Lumineers implies a folk-pop sound, which this song...doesn't have.
I just think the melodies and the verses have a bit of a Lumineers sound to it but that doesn't make it a Lumineers song or anything. It's still very much an Andy song
Ha.. it sounds more American Authors than it does Lumineers. Ridiculous comparison IMO.. I don't hear it at all
Loving the new track quite a lot, and I'm a complete sucker for a soaring, melodic, hook-laden chorus which "Fire Escape" features. Don't really understand the comparisons though, sounds like an Andrew track and that's fine with me.
Ever since Synesthesia he's been treading Alt Nation water and it just seems so formulaic. To me Fire Escape just sounds like a self-titled b-side.
