Really enjoy this one lyrically. The note he posted about it on Facebook made me appreciate it even more.

I love the last two singles, not as hot about that one, but it's still decent. Loving that he's trying a bunch of different things on this record, and especially this new song. And, I do agree with you all though, in comparison to the other two singles and after giving it some time, I think this is his next mainstream song.

"Brooklyn . . ." is still my favorite of the 3 released, but this is damn good.

This is my favourite of the three quite easily. Still despise "Brooklyn".

I don't "not like" these new songs, they just don't do much for me.

I dunno. I realize Something Corporate was never hard rock, but AM knows how to write a solid rock jam, he's done it plenty before with Jack's Mannequin. I'd much rather hear him aping Fleetwood Mac than ending up sounding like Philip Phillips.

It's no secret that I enjoy taking risks and "So Close" was forged in the middle of such a moment. It was penned after the first Wilderness tour when so much in my life felt like it was on the verge of something; Some great victory or defeat. It was hard at the time to tell which. There's a nervousness that goes along with launching new projects and it creates an energy and excitement that bleeds into everything. Personal relationships, self confidence, sleep and dreams. For me, "So Close" is a snapshot of life's uncertain moments. Moments where every breath and motion is charged with anxiety and hope, fear and fearlessness.

4/4. This guy's career consistency is unreal.

While I actually like all these songs, it's easy to tell this will be extremely polarizing

I don't see why though. It's been clear he's been traveling in this direction for like 4 years now.. yet some people still seem shocked he's writing poppy songs haha.

IMO genre doesn't matter because the passion and heart he put into these songs both lyrically and musically are no less than they were in the SoCo/JM days. It's still very much Andrew

This album is going to be superb. Pure pop and I'm loving it.

This song is a jam. But yeah, album will probably be polarizing. Unquestionably, Andrew has been a pop artist since Everything in Transit, but this is the poppiest he's sounded.

True, but people have said that since the auto-tune usage in "Catching Cold." It's been 4 years now, so if people have been following his progression this shouldn't be TOO much of a surprise. But you're absolutely right haha

I feel like people had that reaction to People & Things too, because that's a very pop-influenced record. That one wasn't particularly well-received at first, though a lot of people seem to have come around on it since.

I don't think this is as poppy as his last album though? Maybe because this one is more experimental?
