I'm surprised I haven't seen This Wild Ride mentioned, probably my early favorite.

wrap yourself in petals for armor.

I'm watching Andrew's livestream on Instagram. He talked about where he got inspiration for the album - directly from people in his life and from people he's observed in his town. He wanted to talk about the "other side" of California ("shady side" lol). He talked about how beach towns seem to be one way on the surface, but when you live in them you start to see that other side ("shady side"). He said his grandma was a huge piece of the album, she passed away while he was writing it. He wrote and played for her This Wild Ride before she passed. Then he took us on a tour of his house, and I'm sure no one would be surprised to hear that the man has taste. I need his interior designer haha. He also has an eye for great art. His house certainly reflects that of an amazingly creative individual.

Andrew is just such a tender and raw individual. There's a reason his music has spanned decades now, and it's not just his talent - his heart has always been so honest. I really can't express how important his music has been on the journey of my life - over half of it - which is powerful and important. I mean how many things do we weave in and out of our lives over time? Everytime Andrew drops an album I am reminded of how special he must be to have carried so many of us along for the ride. This album is wonderful and I'm so happy he continues to make music and tour the world to play it for us.

I haven't been a huge Andrew fan for a bit now but I'm pleasantly surprised by quite a few tracks on here.

In typical "me" fashion, I cried upon hearing most of this album. This is easily my favorite Wilderness album, and I feel like it perfectly blended elements from EIT, Glass Passenger AND People and Things to make something really cohesive and wonderful. Like everyone's said before, "This Wild Ride" is just...wow. I told a friend of mine that it'd be a perfect lullaby for his daughter when she's born. He's excited about that one!

    Hey. Supporter

House In The Trees is the best song he’s written in quite awhile and the best on the album.

I am listening to this for the first time on my commute home tonight. After reading what everyone has been saying, I can't wait. I listened to the new Mumford & Sons album before checking this out, and I am starting to think I may have made a grave mistake.....

I was always a big Jack's Mannequin fan, and I enjoyed the first AMITW album and its b-sides a ton, but Zombies On Broadway was not my cup of tea at all.

I just love how this dude reinvents himself. For real...SoCo, JM, now Wilderness...and he's still so relevant. Thats something special.

    all we have is time

God this album is incredible. Everything is really special but out of the new tracks “House In The Trees” and “This Wild Ride” are early favorites. I lost my grandmother a couple weeks ago so “This Wild Ride” and the story behind it hits especially close to home.

They've all been great, but this is the most “Andrew sounding” record in a long time IMO. Feels genuinely him in so many ways.

This is really damn good. Like overwhelmingly good after only one listen. I need to listen a few more times to even gather my thoughts, but what an incredible album. Reminded me of how I felt listening to Everything In Transit for the first time. I don't remember particular tracks standing out to me - they were all great - so much as moments and parts of songs where I would just have a huge smile on my face and be thinking "holy sh-t, that was awesome!" in my head.

Wonderful, wonderful album on so many levels. I started listening to AMITW only with the last album, which I also loved. This is a moving, powerful record.

Man this is my favorite Andrew McMahon related release since The Glass Passenger. Anyhow I went back and listened to the first AMitW album and I enjoy it quite a bit more than I remembered. Those bonus tracks are pretty great, too.
