    I hate spoilers. Supporter

What a bizarre rollout to an album, if you can even call it that.

I mentioned this in an Andrew Facebook page and they got so defensive. It was very weird. All I said was that it’s an unusual rollout.

Is this album being released through a big label? Maybe it’s independent and that explains the rollout?

I know the SYML rollouts tend to have a bunch of singles, but it's always felt that way for him. Not sure if that's been his only label, though.

What were their excuses for it, I wonder? It objectively makes no sense to announce your album in a Consequence of Sound article and then still have no information about that album on your website six weeks later.
I've learned that all those groups are just awful places to have any kind of objective conversation about an artist, though.

my comment was basically, this is a weird rollout, we will have 6 songs and no preorder. Let me throw money at it.

“This is how he always does it”
“I guess you don’t support Andrew”
“He is just trying to build up hype/the fan base”

    dumb shit like that.

I left a Thrice group the week before Revisited dropped. I commented that they had re recorded the album and that there would likely be a full US tour. Not one of them believed they had re recorded the album. One guy insisted that the Silhouette clip in the Australia tour promo video was a live version that they cleaned up and removed crowd noise from. They completely ignored that we already had the album cover. They insisted that if an album was being released, they just recorded a live performance at a show. Bunch of dumb idiots. These Facebook groups might have people who like the artist, but they don’t know shit about the scene or industry.

    LOL

He does tend to release a bunch of singles ahead of time, but he's definitely been better at framing narratives around albums in the past (and letting people preorder). And as far as building hype, I feel like there is none around this album other than that CoS article, this thread, and a blurb I wrote for our most anticipated feature.

There is a Camp Wilderness exclusive preorder tomorrow. Would assume public preorders for other variants will go live as well. Finally.

In the comments they say if it doesn’t sell out, the leftovers would be sold at shows this fall and never online.

Is there anything cool in the archive for Camp Wilderness? Any proshot shows or live albums?

I’m not in it. Just saw screen shots.

5 songs we won’t have heard if he holds out until the 31st! Unsure why Built to Last is greyed out.

This one’s probably my favorite since Stars.
    Still, weird ass rollout.

There's now a vinyl preorder link on his homepage, but if you click it, there are no vinyl preorder options or anything having to do with the album in his store.

    I am so confused.

Laying On the Hood was that for me. Gonna hold off on this one for now. That way half the album is still new to me.
