I don't think it's a great full-length but there are three or four really cool tracks, and I think it's worth it for that.

Similar to what @OotyPa said at the time — it stumbles along in quite a charming fashion, finding fragments of good melodic ideas and textures along the way. It's not that refined but there's something pleasingly organic about it. I hope he makes another.

 

With those track lengths, three or four tracks might as well be a full-length lol

 

if you like this album, you would enjoy the new Steve Roach / Robert Rich album. out of this world

The Ghostwriters album I shared awhile back is finally being released on streaming tomorrow and getting a vinyl reissue.

all proceeds will go to a nonprofit fighting against online sex abuse and trafficking. makes me feel better about getting this, as one of the members - now deceased - was arrested in 2016 for trying to meet up with a minor.

this album was one I listened to during an extremely vulnerable moment and quite honestly opened up my eyes (i was on psychedelics lol). afterwards learning about its context actually makes it mean even more to me... I know that maybe doesn't make sense, but my relationship with it is personal to me, and reminds me of how I overcame something huge and intergenerational. it somehow makes me believe in the power of beauty despite terror/pain, and is (still) an important work of art to me.

anyway, just wanted to let y'all know it's dropping since we spoke about it in here.
