I actually think rogue one works quite well after andor. Could do without the mustafar stuff and cgi tarken/leia but most of it works.
It is seamless in background and setting but tonally it's different. Rogue One is a different character's story.
would love to see someone make an Andor edit of Rogue One. move the beginning backstory bit to be a flash back later on and just start from Andor meeting Saw’s informant.
Tonally it kind of feels like a bridge between Andor and A New Hope, which kind of works. Definitely whiplash going from one to the other though.
Watched S2 of Andor this week and finished it up last night. Absolutely incredible storytelling and character building. Top tier Star Wars.
my partner and i have been playing the Star Wars Unlimited TCG for the past year and change (think games like Magic The Gathering, but Star Wars themed), and decided to attend a regional qualifier event outside of the Doylestown/Philly area this weekend. we were talking with some of the competitors at the event about some of the card designs for the new set that releases next week, and i guess one thing led to another and we got on the topic of some of the new shows (since the set is pulling characters and assets from Ahsoka and Andor to a small extent), and one of the girls we were talking to was discussing just how much she despises Andor and how she hate watched it to the end just to say she watched it (this was also partially because one of our friends still hasn't finished the new season yet, because he found it to be a bit slow, which i disagree with). like to each their own (i know she said she was a huge fan of Rebels more than any other SW project), but i find it odd that something that's more or less had unanimous praise has people who despise its existence (we also knew someone at our local game store who hated the show because they don't like Cassian's character, but they never talked about their distaste for the show like this one player).
I can kind of see where the slow complaints come from when watching the first few arcs, especially when compared to every SW thing tat came before it, but I could not disagree more with that idea. There’s a little less action, but the dialogue and character work more than makes up for it.
agreed, and ultimately, our friend doesn't hate Andor. but this one girl did, and it's just weird thinking that show has people who despise it to that level. just feels hyperbolic.
