My prediction: Bix gets killed in an accelerationist suicide mission orchestrated by Luthen, Andor ends up killing him
Also I am betting next week will see the circumstances around the Empire dismissing the senate as mentioned in Episode IV
This arc has felt way too real. Still need to watch nine, but Jesus. Eight fucked me up. Who knows how many times the US has done some shit exactly like that.
Also, never thought I’d feel for Syrill in the end, but yikes. Realizing you got played and caused such a massacre as a result, then the last words you ever hear are from your nemesis saying “Who are you?” Embarrassing and pretty tragic.
After next when this show ends for those looking for something with similar themes and vibes to fill the void may I suggest Star Trek: Deep Space 9?
I mean, it’s set a year before that happens. So, I’m gonna say no. I could see someone mentioning the idea to do so or wanting to do it, you know, a long term plan. Also hilarious to spoiler tag info in a movie from 1977.
had my problems with this season for sure but Who Are You is some once in a lifetime masterwork TV. they should teach that shit in schools. absolutely incredible
Not everybody remembers that, it was a quick one off line. Also the i heard the last three are supposed to lead directly into Rogue One, which takes place only a day or two before the start of Episode IV. This likely isn't going to be a year before Rogue One, it going to be the events directly leading to it
If they take place in 1 BBY (as seems to be the case), it’s a year before. It is entirely possible the final scene or sequence will be set later than the rest of the arc. Events “leading directly” in to Rogue One is pretty ambiguous and may not mean days or weeks before. It may simply put all the pieces in place as we know them at the start of Rogue One.
Also worth noting, the whole BBY/ABY is not an in universe thing, as far as I’m aware. So they could be pretty flexible with it.
I'm just realllyyyy excited to watch Rogue One again, so much added context behind Cassian and the surrounding events
1 BBY ends and 0 BBY starts the day of the Battle of Yavin. Rogue One takes place in 1 BBY as does some of A New Hope technically.
enjoyed the bulk of 9 but the romcom 'Cassian runs to the airport' moment at the end took me out a bit. felt kinda beneath this show, but I never really bought the Bix/Andor romance from the beginning
pretty impressed how well they handed off to the Mothma Rebels ep despite the massive difference in tone
I had to stop myself from watching Rogue One again after these last 3 episodes. Gotta hold out another week. Also can't watch Rogue One without also watching A New Hope after
If they did that people might figure out that the US is participating in a genocide in real time and that would never happen.
I kinda thought we’d see Bix dead this week so there was more time between her death and Rogue One. If the last episode happens immediately before Rogue One, I’d think there’d be some time for Cassian to be seemingly unaffected.
