hoping episode 3 grabs me because the first 2 didn't really. hated that stuff with the two factions of the rebel group, just a big nothingburger
Yep. Specifically mentioning 25k years ago, and it coming from a temple. Also it kind of resembled the spirit things from the Yoda arc of Clone Wars season 6.
wasn't a huge fan of the faction subplot, but i'm sure it'll tie into the grand narrative somehow (since Maya Pei was mentioned in S1). if nothing else, it highlights divisions between Rebel factions
otherwise, great premiere overall. could watch several hours of drunk Mon Mothma dancing and the Dedra/Syril/Eedy arc
Eh I like seeing how the rebellion isn’t even remotely unified and there’s just all these shitty factions with different ideas about how to go about it. No wonder Saw is annoyed all the time.
Yes, I’m quoting myself. Sorry! I say that, knowing that there’s a 100% chance we see her die before the end of the season.
I'm fine with it in theory just think the writing/acting was surprisingly rough for this show. also really obviously felt like a delaying tactic to keep Cass out of the action until the end of ep3 I did like it on the whole though, definitely picked up at the end. Verada Sethu is having a helluva month with this and Doctor Who airing back to back
I love this show. People say that the Force doesn't exist in this show but I think that's wrong. The Force works through Cassian and makes him, as Maarva said, "an unstoppable force for good." I think we see Cassian get out of increasingly heinous situations this season as a way of showing this. Cassian is a force of nature and God help anyone who gets in his way. This will make his eventual sacrifice mean even more. So I guess I'm saying I disagree with it only being a delaying tactic, it will ultimately fit in with the theme of each or the last 2 seasons.
Loved episode 1. Some amazing shots - the opening, the mirror shot in the dream, the long takes on Mon Mothma.
