Yeah, I’ve given up on trailers for things I already know I’m going to watch. They usually just spoil things. I still like trailers for things I don’t know about though
I agree that those of us who are already going to watch don’t need a trailer, but I still think Disney is dropping the ball on marketing here, they should be trying to capture more new viewers. The first season could appeal to casual or even non-Star Wars fans because it was such a strong well-written show, and I feel like too many people never gave it a fair shot, whether it was burnout from too many other Star Wars shows of varying quality or whatever else.
I agree with that but also thing if we want more andor like content then people need to watch and Disney needs to get people to watch. Not holding my breath though. if we got one thing of andor quality once every ten years I’d be happy I guess lol.
looks amazing, but i could really do without the Steve Earle needledrop and review quotes in this trailer
Now they can bitch about the music choice lol. Footage looks awesome. Steve Earle awesome. Interesting choices with the trailer to expand the audience.
This shit is gonna be so hard. My biggest question is whether we'll see Mothma's defection from the Empire. It went hard in Rebels and would love to see it from Cassian's perspective.
Agree to disagree. I think it's an important event and it could come at a time where Cassian is about to give up and is inspired by her to continue fighting. There are many things we can glean from seeing a scene from a different perspective. It's like we never even loved The Last Jedi.
This is about how I felt, but I get that with the critical response + viewership numbers, they’re trying to capture some people that may not have watched the first season.
“Creator and executive producer Tony Gilroy has shared that this season will follow Cassian’s journey in the four years leading up to the events of Rogue One, with the 12 episode story unfolding in four weekly chapters of three episodes each.” From Starwars.com
i get that. not a huge fan of doing that for a series that's being billed as a grittier take on SW, but i understand why they did it.
Completely different context. One is just recycling a scene to do the same thing it did in its original context. Adding no nuance or deeper understanding or truth. The other shows different perspectives with greatly different interpretations of a moment that changes the galaxy along with shifting Luke and Ben in totally new directions from that moment. And the third visit to it is the true retelling that allows you to fully understand what happened and why both felt the way they did afterwards.
haven't gotten there yet, but i'd imagine that the retelling of some of the ROTS scenes in TCW might be a more apt comparison? i don't really have an opinion on whether they recreate the scene or not
If it’s just a couple seconds of audio or a hologram, sure, fine, whatever. Almost more like the holocron of Kenobi warning Jedi to stay away and such in Rebels.
I'm thinking like Cassian beaten down, surrounded, about to give up and maybe he even just hears the speech and decides not to acquiesce. I don't want the exact scene again for sure.
