Yeah I really love the much deeper dive into politics than we usually get from this universe, it really does contextualize the Empire in a really cool way
This is so good. Great episode. Right now, I'm so intrigued with how Syril and Dedra are going to tie together to the bigger story by the end of the series. Hopefully, they can stick the landing.
I think that's one of the things I appreciate the most about this show, that familiar things aren't shoehorned in for the sake of nostalgia, at least not in a way that takes me out of it. Everything feels like it belongs. Edit: Except for the AK-47 blasters. I don't know who thought that was a good idea.
I really loved that shot of the Star Destroyer coming in overhead in this last episode. It really imposed a sense of dread that I think Star Destroyers have always been associated with, but hasn't been properly rendered in a long time.
Yep, there's no stopping the scene to show us the cantina guys or C3PO and R2 like in Rogue One or Finn holding up Luke's training orb thing in TFA. Shit that's just there for nostalgia dopamine hits. The closest this show has come to that is the Scarif name-drop in episode 4.
Ord Mantell in this latest episode too. I had a flashback to skipping that level every time in Shadows of the Empire.
Even that was just kind of thrown out in passing in the context of that meeting. It's not something that was overly distracting.
from watching a video before, Luthen's shop is a treasure trove of easter eggs but they mostly seemed like deep cut ones that a lot of people wouldn't catch (besides the holocrons)
I love the bit Karn skirting around the mouse droid. Even as a kid, I always thought to myself "There's no way those droids aren't getting kicked and stepped on all the time" lol
Even using f.lux all the time my eyes still sometimes have problems with white backgrounds, so I stay dark mode all the time (worth the price of the Chorus subscription alone)
absolutely, it's the least Star Wars feeling media I've ever watched (of course it's still undeniably SW) and I love that about the show. And how good was Maarva's speech to Cassian!
I got genuine feels during that scene; the way they interplayed off each other, and how she specially delivered her lines really got me, especially the bit about the Empire not being able to touch what’s in her head or whatever. Show just has excellent writing all around. It’s as if HBO got their own Star Wars series
Genevieve O'Reilly is amazing in this and absolutely stunning. Hers was my favorite scene of the episode but everything from Cassian and Marva (and B2Emo) to ISB stuff was so intriguing. Whoever designed Mon Mothma's wardrobe is a gift to mankind. Incredible show.
This show is absolutely fucking incredible. The whole thing is fantastic, but the last two episodes have been on another level. A++, both of them. I don't know if you mean you haven't watched it yet and don't want to because it doesn't look like something you will enjoy, or if you mean the visuals do not look good. Because visually, this show is stunning.
I wasn't as high on this episode as some of y'all I guess. I felt like we were straining a bit to catch up on every storyline, so there wasn't enough time for it all. like the minute-long glimpses we got of Vel and Cinta seemed like they were cut in from another episode also the space Miami bit was very jarring for some reason, I felt like I missed some vital context and was very confused why Cassian wouldn't just... sit down and not join the throng of people who were obviously running still some really good stuff though. Mon Mothma's big scene was fucking awesome, so was the last scene between Cass and Marva (if that's the last time they ever meet - goddamn, heartbreaker). but I really missed the Gilroy's writing in this one, I think
