Weird thought but I wonder if the rebel guerrilla parts of this were in any way influenced by Come And See, especially how they made that one lone tie fighter flying over a partisan camp kind of terrifying.
Another really good episode. I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching these little domestic squabbles between Mon Mothma and her family or Syril being patronized by his mom while eating Cocoa Puffs.
yeah this show is such a breath of fresh air. such a pleasant feeling watching a Star War and thinking "god this dialogue is great" I love how they shoot the Tie Fighters like horror movie monsters was that Hunter from Agents of SHIELD?? I miss seeing that dude on my screen
Starting to see now why there are 12 episodes for this season as opposed to the other SW shows. They're really taking their time telling this story. I like the 3-ep arcs they seem to be doing, which means next week's should be a banger.
If anyone hasn't read Lost Stars, I highly encourage you to do so. It's my favorite Star Wars book and one of my favorite books period.
Yeah, this episode was DOPE AS FUCK It had the intensity and purpose of a Bourne series action scene, but in Star Wars. And I truly felt for what happened to that character at the end of it. Like, to see the absolute genesis of where the whole rebellion started, to see the sacrifices the characters went through to get it going. Just awesome
I love the human level this gets down to in terms of what everyone is fighting for. We're so used to the good/evil or jedi/sith or empire/rebellion dichotomy in this universe. Huge space battles and lightsaber duels. We rarely get to see (at least from the media I've consumed) real stuff like "the Empire killed a local woman I fell in love with" and "the Empire flooded the land where my brother's farm was and he killed himself" and it resonates so much more with me, even though I love all the other stuff we're used to. And the tense family conversations at the dinner table (Syril and his mom, Mon and her family) are the most relatable thing I've ever seen in SW lol
The heist did not disappoint. That meteor shower made for an awesome backdrop to the whole sequence. Loved it.
Another great episode. I feel safe in saying this is the best Star Wars show so far. Apparently it’s not doing well numbers wise though. Which sucks. Hopefully Disney doesn’t see that has a reason to not allow shows like this.
Hm about that guy's brother and his orchard.... Yeah this was incredible. Some of the shots are beautiful, like the scene of Vel and Cinta underwater backlit by the meteors or even just the TIE pilots climbing down the ladders to their ships. The buildup to this one was well worth it.
