No because I feel like I have to grade their closers on a different sort of curve. (*Fin) is probably their best song, but it's such a different kind of song I can't accurately compare it to other Anberlin songs I love. Maybe that's questionable logic.
Questionable. But it’s your vote, so I can’t question it or your logic really I guess haha. Godspeed (excuse The Pun!)
I think this is what I was trying to get at the other day about why it annoys me when closers steamroll everything lol
Is there 2 versions of Fin? I was listening to Spotify and I’m “I don’t remember this ending?!” So i check my old iPod and its 6:20 and Spotify went for 8:53 with an extended instrumental outro
The album version I have has a stripped down piece at the end with like shakers and whatnot after the choir stuff ends. Is that the extra ending you are talking about?
Yep bongos n all that jazz, and kinda warrballing by Christian Unless... my copy in the day was burnt. So chance something went array in the being dodgy process of my mate and it got cut off
Nothing to suggest there’s a short version. I’ve had an inferior for a decade now. Half my life has been a lie on one of my fave songs ever......
haha! To be fair though, you got the best parts of the song. I don't think the ending when it slows down makes or breaks the song, just kinda puts a nice end cap to it but I'd be lying if I said I didn't skip that part sometimes
Man. I fucking love that part. For those who don’t know, Stephen improvised it in the studio. And that’s the take. It’s always really brought home the emotion of not only the song, but the album for me. Perfect ending.
The bongos and percussion doesn’t pick up at 6:00 and it just has 20sec of guitar distortion eeeeeeeeee noise to fade out. No extra singing or instruments
I thought the extra singing at the end was literally the whole reason the song was so beloved, can’t imagine not having it. Without it it’s a great song but certainly wouldnt Be a bracket steamroller.
Little Tyrants: 8 (*Fin): 5 Fin: 6 Victory to Little Tyrants! Upset! Jk it’s (*Fin) Final round coming up
NEVER TAKE BRACKETS PERSONAL: THE ANBERLIN BRACKET TOURNAMENT Good evening everyone and welcome to Chorus's next iteration of the discography bracket challenges. It is my pleasure to host a bracket for yet another of my all time favorite bands and I’m excited to see how this shakes out. Quick review: these are randomly generated brackets (no seeding!) to determine a winner for each album, which will then face off in a Champions bracket to decide the best overall Anberlin song! Rules: 1. Voting over a 10-24 hour period, depending on closeness and how busy i am that day lolz. 2. You must vote on every match in a round; ill only vote in the event of a tie. I am, however, generous with giving my opinions. 3. Please discuss your choices; don’t give the anti-bracketers ammo! 4. Byes may be necessary. These are randomly generated; I do not pick them. 5. Counted votes are signified by me 'liking' your post; no vote changes. Choose wisely! A word from the wise: People change in the brackets. Oh find the best song if you can. But be very wary, you might just lose yourself along the way. ANBERLIN FACE OFF: THE CHAMPIONSHIP ----- Round 1 1) Readyfuels Vs. Paperthin Hymn Round 2 2) Winner of 1 Vs. Dismantle. Repair 3) Self Starter Vs. Art Of War 4) Feel Good Drag (New Surrender) Vs. The Haunting 5) Stranger Ways Vs. (*Fin) Tough choices ahead. Or maybe not. Round 1 begins!
